Personally I am taking a guarded apprach to Chris Chambers. We all know he drops alot of passes, but he also catches a lot of tough passes. I see people going crazy, comparing him to Steve Smith. Steve Smith can turn a short pass into a long touchdown, and doesn't drop anywhere near as many passes. Don't get me wrong I like chambers, I can't wait to see what he does next year. But to be honest the best stretch of games came after a horible choking performance in the biggest game of the year vs new england and then all of a sudden he plays well when it no longer matters. Sorry folks but that is the truth!

I'm guardedly optimisitic; inconsistency being his only flaw. Hopefully he's turning the corner on that front as well.

Chambers has played his ENTIRE career catching balls for QB's that we wanted replaced! Rosenfells is the only one who put the ball in front of him on short passes or hit him in stride on deep ones. Chambers has spent his career jumping, twisting, and contorting to catch balls that were over thrown, underthrown, behind him, in the dirt.

He has learned the hard way how to become the defender, drag his toes on the sideline, control the ball when landing out of bounds, come back for the ball. Even last night he was making amazing catches.

yes he has had his share of drops. What he hasn't had; however, is his share of well placed balls in front of him. No QB is ALWAYS going to put it there, buta good QB will sometimes/often put it there.

When CC gets hooked up with a good QB...watch OUT!!

yeah actually he caught the go ahead TD on a busted play where he was the only guy paying attention

If not for Reggie Howard getting beat we win that game, Chambers didnt choke at all, watch the last pass again it was totally uncatchable the more I watch it the more I back off chambers because there is no way any WR catches that ball

Being around guys like Marvin Harrison and Rod Smith all week can only help him rid himself of the inconsistency. I'm excited to see what he'll do next year having been around all the guys at the Pro Bowl.

He drops about the average of a starting wide reciever in his class. I would be willing to call it too many (since I think one is too many), however I would not call it a lot.

the truth, lol now that's a joke and a half. So after the bills game you read the future and knw Miami was going to the playoffs? wow. Miami still had a chance to get in the playoffs, that games was crucial for Miami to rebound and have a chance. Chambers has made som nay big plays for Miami that gave them wins in his career. Smith was actually one drop less from Chambers this season, so you say Chambers and it it goes in proportion, so if chambers actually has 15 then smith has 14. Smith is a tiny dude, so of course he's gonna be quick as hell, most short small dudes are. smith made great plays going deep catching deep passes, but most of his yards were from screen passes, where he ran 70 yards down the field. I mean couldn't the chiefs have that with Dante Hall, who is not really Wr? Chambers can break down the field and make nice moves, obviously not like Smith, but he's better than you think. Smith is a great WR. but give credit where credit is due for Chambers. And I do believe Chambers wil have more yards and TDs next season.

In the probowl game, WR's missed some passes that Chambers would usually be ridiculed for. I know it was only probowl but these guys want to make every catch and they didn't. There were some tough catches that Chad Johnson didn't get, that weren't drops according to me, but Chambers would have been ridiculed for. I believe Santana Moss missed one. Rod Smith dropped a pass by Mcnair at the end. Antonio Gates had two back to back drops, so...........

unreal.... it doesn't matter what CC does. There will always be nay sayers. Just sad. The guy just can't win with some of you people.

Chambers is the man. Look what he has done for us the lst few years. If we can get a little help on our O-line to give our QB a chance to find him, and get a QB to get the ball to him, just think what he can do!!!!!

Again, I like Chris I have watched him his whole career and besides his rookie year and the last quarter of last year chris chambers hasn't produced near as much as he could of or should have. Did we have bad offenses, crappy qb's, run first offenses... you bet. I guess I am old school, I simply believe that someone needs to produce when it counts the most to earn my respect. Everyone knew the NE game last year was "the big game".. everyone. There is a debate whether he dropped 4 or upto 6 passes in that game including the last pass in the end zone. And yes I watched it over and over(tivo) and he could have caught it, I didn't say should of, but it just seemed like it was a weak effort. The ball hit his hand and his shin not the ground. I truely think we need another WR on the team that contributes alot, I am not knocking him. Chriss and another good WR would do wonders for this offense.

First off Smith is not a tiny dude, hes two inches shorter and not much lighter than Chambers. And the majority of his yards came from catching passes over the middle of the field, getting leveled and jumping up to go do it again. That is something I have not seen from Chambers, the toughness and desire to deliver the hit that a guy like Smith demonstrates.

I also attended the first jets game last year, and on that third down in the third quarter on the jets side of the field when chambers slid and the ball hit him in the chest and he dropped and we had to punt. Saban went nuts he was so disgusted, I am not sure if people watching the game on tv saw it, but it left a lasting impression.

I'd like to see how many games of all the other WR's in the league you have watched? All the top guys drop some balls. Some more signifigant than others. This guy has all the tools and makes big plays. I remember counting the overthrowns bombs to Chambers in 2002 and it was almost 40!!

Sometimes when a QB makes a errant pass near a guy and he has to slide or twist, jump to high, etc..There are gonna be some drops but every once in a while every WR is gonna drop an easy one. Some of those stick out more cause you watch all of our games and if you followed another team you'd find the same thing to say about Chad Johnson, etc...

I would consider a ball that hits the WR in the hands a good ball. Or a ball that is thrown in stide, the WR reaches out in stride, hits him on the hands in stride, then he drops it, I would consider that a good ball also.
Most of us would like to have a Probowl QB, with great accuracy. But to blame all of CC drops on the QB is just silly, he's inconsistent. I hope he turn it around and doesn't drop a ball next year, but if he plays like he did the first 9 games of this past year i will still call him inconsistent.
