The TRUTH about Ronnie is...

I know everyone's sick of the RONNIE headlines but this is the article to read about two weeks of work...

Great post. This is why I think he was a good pick and he'll be fine.

Ronnie Brown is bigger than Cadillac Williams. He is stronger. He is faster. He catches the ball better and he blocks better. These are all things that obviously went into Nick Saban’s decision-making process.

that was good. I'm so tired of idiots bashing ronnie brown after only two games I am glad to see there are other people who agree.

An excellent read. There are a lot of posters on this site who should read this.

Bigger ,absolutely
Faster, no question
Better Hands, granted
Stronger, evident

Better----------NO ... Bottom line, Caddy does not need excuses he is getting the job done. Ronnie, let's see this week. But I am telling you , if he does not avg at least a respectable 3.5 YPR, I want to see the Ronnie lovers on this forum eating crow.

SR66, good observation. It's like if he came on here and saw the same crap that's been going around here regarding the two backs. It's a very good perspective, and honestly nothing I haven't already heard from the knowledgeable people on this forum when talking about Ronnie. It's really amazing to me, not so much that there is doubters, but the incredible number of people who are ready to give up on Ronnie after two freaking games. And the point about the media making it worse is so dead on that I think I might see my name as the author if I click on the link again. Even 5 years ago you didn't see this amount of websites and analaysts all over the web and the papers. And with that you have some absurd amount of journalists with a whole week to pick and prod each movement by each of the players, and it really isn't fair. I mean jeez, Curtis Enis wasn't even doubted until well into his second or even third year I believe. It's not fair to the players, but I guess that's what technology brings you. Definate goods, but as we can all see, some definate bads

I guess you think the offensive line makes no difference in how someone runs?

I watched tape of the Tampa game, their line was opening holes big enough to drive an eighteen wheeler through. Our line has not opened holes big enough for a midget (sorry if that is not the PC name) to get through.

I by no means think that Caddy is not doing great. He is. However, I want to see good oline production before I bash Ronnie too much.

RL, it's not going to happen. You saying that Ronnie is not better is as ignorant as saying that Caddy is better. You just don't know that. Three games is not any better than two. That's the bottom line. I in no way am trying to take anything away from Caddy, he's looked real good after two games. But that's the key, he's looked good after TWO GAMES. That doesn't make him any better or worse than Ronnie. If he has two bad games now, and Ronnie has two great games, does that make Ronnie better than Caddy? No, because the season is 17 weeks long, not two, and it's not fair to either one of them to judge them after so short of time. That's exactly the point that the author of the article is trying to make. Give them time. Hopefully they are both great, but you can't make that decision off two games. Period.

Is that the only part of the article you read??? How about the fact that our O-line isn't half as good as Tampa's, or that Ronnie missed half of training camp, or he's playing in a brand new system that ALL the players are trying to get used to while Tampa has had the exact same system for the past 4 years and everyone on that offense knows exactly what they're supposed to be doing. I don't care if Brown doesn't get 50 yards for the rest of this season, until there's an O-line in place that is at least respectable NOBODY is going to run effectively in Miami!!!

Take away 50% of Caddy yardage. He is still producing. Ronnie is behind a crappy OL but when available, Sammy ran for good yardage. Like I said lets wait a bit, but from what I am seeing, it is Sammie Smith all over again...
