There was a time when we had this one guy, you might remember him by number 13. He used to keep us in games and more often than not he would do what Peyton Manning did to us today. We had a nice stretch of about fifteen years where we enjoyed the luxury of having a HOF QB and now it's just not us. It's the other teams turn like the Steelers, Colts, Falcons, ect.

It's very frustrating to see this team show flashes of greatness but it just cannot seem to put everything together. One week they play good on one side of the ball, then another week we correct those mistakes and something else gets us. What's next? Next week our linebackers get sacks but our corners get torched and we still lose the game?

Guys, I'm sorry but we aren't ready to take on these type of teams. The truth just hurts and i realized it tonight. I don't care how good we looked in a loosing effort, that is NOT an excuse.

At the end of the day, I'm still here, I got my season tickets(shout out to section 416, specially drunk cuban guy that was rude as hell I GOT YOUR POINT BRO but you just killed everyone's mood with that argument you had with that guy behind me) and I will continue to support the fins even though it hurts. Why do I even continue to torture myself by watching highlights on ESPN?

sigh... night I'm going to sleep. Another week of work hoping.....

Hoping that next year we find our guy, our playmakers oh and please, do not draft anyone with the following, names, last names or surnames:

1. Ted
2. Ginn
3. Jr.

I would prefer someone with a name like Johnson oh and Fitzgerald s are also welcome.

P.s. In the meantime, we are still in search of the future QB...peace

Sorry, but it is our time. Why not. Just ask Arizona about last year. They got their shot from nothingness.

No, we are failing for the same reason we seem to always peak and drop back. Personnel decisions that don't put us over the top.

Why no #1 receiver? Why no top Safety? Why does Crowder always get a free pass? Why Pat White at #2? These are big mistakes that were concious decisions in the offseason by the men at the top. This is why we are 0-2 not 2-0.

I heard that YET for 17 years of Dan Marino's career. Shove the YET and GET it done.

Tactically that was the worst 3 minute drill in NFL history.

This post is very true. But at the same time this team could/should be a LOT better had they made improvements at the WR position by signing a guy like Coles, or TJ Houshmenzadeh or any one to play alongside Ted Ginn and be there to make the big catches when needed. This team could also be better with better defensive linemen, which we've needed for several years and Parcells STILL hasn't addressed.

I'm tired of waiting for the future for the team to fix holes that are/were fixable in the present.

I wouldn't call last season a fluke. The playcalling needs to be put in check and the secondary needs to get their head out of their arses and play some football! I blame this whole game on that 3rd and 6 call if anyone was watching the same game I was would agree.

We are one of the least talented teams in the league.

Our 11-5 record last year, wasn't a fluke, but we had the ball roll our way.

WE ARE STILL REBUILDING!!!!!!!!!

Arizona has playmakers, and we are still rebuilding. That refutes every point you made.

Last season wasn't a fluke, but it's kind of like throwing a kid who just learned how to swim into the ocean. Odds are he isn't going to survive. To realistically expect this team to win 11 games again and repeat in the AFC east with teams as good as the NFC and AFC South on the schedule just wasn't rational. I had them at 8 wins and that was being generous. Next year hopefully we will make the transition to legitimate contenders.

They aren't playmakers until they make plays. If Ginn catches the TD, is he not a "playmaker?"

That refutes the point you tried to make.

Understand that every year, teams will improve, some to the point of exceeding expectations. That is what AZ was last year. They have the same playmakers this year and stink up the house.

The time is always now. Every team that wins it gets the breaks. If we don't face BAL in the playoffs last year, it could have been us.

This year will be a down year, most likely, but we are still only a couple of stupid turnovers and a missed catch by Ginn from being 2-0. Its all about taking advantage of now.

If you think this year is over already, you lost already. They have 14 to play. Anything can happen, but you need to actually do what winners do, and that is find a way to win.

When you play not to lose, like we did at the end of the game, you most likely will not win.

#13 was our time. But it was early '70s and Jake Scott. I'll never understand the adoration of the fraud era hosted by Dan Marino. Luckily it coincided with true greatness courtesy of the Canes.

Regression to the mean is ever powerful in the NFL. Many sites posted that including Football Outsiders. I realize it's cute to evaluate position by position and say it won't apply to us, but the big picture tends to get in the way. Last season we played a very weak schedule and it fell perfectly for us in terms of who we played at what point. On top of that, the massive net turnover edge is also subject to regression to the mean. I've seen many studies on that. INT differential is more prone to balancing out a year later than fumble differential.

The '08 Dolphins would have stood out as more legit if we had posted that record while kicking the ball around like a normal team. It's not like we had a magical birthright or formula to 13 turnovers again.

Because last year's premature success has overshadowed the fact that this is year 2 of rebuilding. MIA is still 2-3 years from being elite.

this whole still rebuilding b.s doesnt fly with me. we've heard it for how many years now? how long can some of you on this forum continue to use that excuse. as fans we should expect a winning product to be put on the field, not some miss-mosh of mediocre players that can't get the job done. we need more talent on this team, and the front office needs to go out and get it anyway they can. the rebuilding excuse can only be used for so long.

MIA has been rebuilding for years because there has been no continuity in the FO. It takes approx 3 years to rebuild a team to elite status after a less than 5 win season. Every time MIA got to year 2 of rebuilding with the old regimes head coaches quit or got fired...there restarting year one or rebuilding once again.

We've only been "rebuilding" for less then 2 years. I understand we should expect a winning product and we are getting there. We have the coaches in place to become a contender, just need the talent on the field. Which we don't have.

Arizona has the best receiver tandem in the league and a QB that was the most dominant player in the NFL in his heyday and despite being older can still completely dominate on any given sunday, given pass protection. They are so explosive on offense that they are capable of winning any game, and when they got lucky and made the playoffs with a poor record they made the best of their opportunity. And they also play in the NFC, where the level of play has been drastically lower in recent years. More than half the team's in the AFC could be division winners in a couple NFC divisions.

But really, the teams in the Super Bowl usually have multiple phases of the game where the players are so good that they can win games single-handed if needed. Look at the Steelers with Polamalu and Roethelisberger on different sides of the ball, not to mention other players like Harrison and just a general heap of talent. Sure the Cardinals only had the passing game, but its much easier to win with only a great passing attack compared to only a great running attack because the running game becomes irrelevant if the defense falters and the score gets out of hand. Our rushing attack is looking good but it still isn't completely dominant because despite getting consistent first downs and good gains, we haven't broken but one run for a score, which is what is really necessary for that phase to be entirely dominant. And we need an even average defense to be able to pair up with our running game.
