The truth to stadium attendance.

indys in 29th, thats a shocker

I think Indy has the smallest stadium in the league or close to it. what's surprising is they don't sell out every game, with that offense and this streak? wth more do they want?

and i thought Phin fans were bad....

the biggest problem facing the dolphins attendance is their geography. being a florida team they have a lot of people who are not native to the state. therefore, a lot of people already have a team to root for (wherever they grew up) when they move to miami. teams like san diego have the same problems.

DEspite rumors to the other wise Miami's Attendendance has been good.

For the last five years we have been in the top 10 for average stadium attendance.

Unluckily we are in the bottom ten for selling out pct of people attending.

Sounds confusing? i know! well here is the page. Help me decipher this...

Don;t believe it. between 10% and 20 % of the attendance is rooting for the visiting team. Jets, Bills, NE and Pitt goes up to 30% to 40%.. We are a poor transient community. Most of the folks who can afford Season tickets are Fins fans the rest are transplants. If the Dolphins endure more than 2 losing seasons you will see the attendance drop until we win.

Forget the stats. Just look around. There are always too many orange seats showing and people leave early. I have NEVER in 20 years heard a comment about how hard it is to play in Miami aside from the heat or weather.

If I read that chart correctly, we fill a smaller % of the stadium at our home games than all but 7 teams.

I used to hear it when we played in the Orange Bowl. IMO part of the problem is that since our stadium is configured for baseball, the fans are further away from the field. Hopefully things will be better when the Marlins leave.

Are they counting tickets sold?(Season and walk up) or are they counting butts in seats?

There are many factors for all of this.At the orangebowl the fans were on top of the fields and teams hated coming here and fans from other teams didn't wanna come cos the seats were hard and our fands were inrimidating at the time too.Now the fans are further away from the field, the seats are nice and fans from other teams feel secure coming there....a lot of the people that live in Miami are latin people who like baseball more than football too.A lot of people that live in Miami came from up north so they're not Dolphins fans. The point is that there's not just one reason for what's happening. But one thing could change everything.WIN the superbowl and the fans will come.

This is all true, but it also seems - from my perspective up here, and in my time living in FL when I was younger - that there's just plain lots to do in SoFla! There's something for everyone, and the weather is great (if not too hot) the entire year. In Green Bay, what choices do you have on November Sundays? Packers game, sit around drink beer. In Buffalo? Bills game, complain about living in Buffalo. Kansas City? Chiefs game, eat steak.

In Miami, if you're a fringe fan, attending the games isn't always option number one as there are many places to be other than Joe Rob on Sundays. Now, if I was there, I'd never miss a game, but that's me.
