I didn't see it posted, and everyone is talking about that late red flag thrown by Saban, which had no impact at all on the game. But there are two key plays I noticed that were bad calls by the referees. The first one is on Pittsburgh first scoring drive. I am totally positive that on 3 and 3 Santonio Holmes bubbles the ball and catch it but it hits the ground, making it an incomplete pass instead of a first down. (It can be seen on a briefly replay they made on the catch)

Is there any video help to prove my point?
This is the play I’m talking about:
Pittsburgh Steelers at 6:35
1-10-PIT 25
(6:35) 39-W.Parker up the middle to PIT 27 for 2 yards (54-Z.Thomas, 59-D.Spragan).

2-8-PIT 27
(6:01) 16-C.Batch pass short middle to 83-H.Miller to PIT 39 for 12 yards (26-T.Tillman).
P1
1-10-PIT 39
(5:19) 39-W.Parker right guard to PIT 42 for 3 yards (91-V.Holliday, 54-Z.Thomas).

2-7-PIT 42
(4:42) 39-W.Parker up the middle to PIT 46 for 4 yards (98-M.Roth, 95-D.Wilkinson).

3-3-PIT 46
(3:57) (Shotgun) 16-C.Batch pass short right to 10-S.Holmes to MIA 48 for 6 yards (37-Y.Bell).
P2
1-10-MIA 48

The second one is the Booker catch which was in my opinion a catch, then a fumbled caused by the ground. This play was a key first down on a threatening Dolphins drive.

Oh there were alot of plays that the refs just gave the okay to the squealers and turned their heads away from the field..

For instance, when Batch was pretty much sacked, he was winding up to throw the ball when his knee hit the ground. He threw the ball a FULL second AFTER his knee was down and they called an incomplete pass.. Instead, it should have been down at the spot or intentional grounding..

Heck, I rewinded the tape and the ball was BEHIND his head in a throwing motion when his knee hit the ground !!. How can the refs be so blind and stupid ??? . Just another gift to the steelers in that one.. Had he been called down like he should of been, and losing all that yardage, quite possibly we stop that drive and the complexion of the game changes.. It was a sham job by the refs all game long.. I am shocked that the NFL allows this garbage.

wut bout when their o-line tackled jason taylor on the sweep to the left? and that illegal hands to the face when they had 3rd n like 10+ yds to go on their on 10 which gave em the first? or the pass interference on goodman..when the ball was clearly uncatchable?

100 percent right, the dolphins got screwed everyway available, just like how seattle got screwed in the superbowl last year, the stealers and the patriots get every call and everyone else gets screwed

and you know how they said in 300 stoppages and instance like sabans never happend? it happend again today for the cowboys against jacksonville, he threw the flag before the ball was snapped and the refs didnt see the flag

the one where there was like two blocks in the back on the reverse to parker was ridiculous. how can you miss that call when the play is right in front of you. thatsjust how refs take over the game

there are a bunch of posts about the refs in the game. no penalties against the offense or defense for pitt. are you kidding me. come one

Those blocks were made along the line of scrimmage.
That was not a penalty call to make. Good no call.

The Phins were their own enemy in this game and they got beat fairly.

they really need to put younger guys out on the field to officiate all games. i hate these old guys they use for officials, you know their eyesight is not keen. for god's sake most of them dont even wear glasses on the field, and i can't think of hardly any old person that doesn't need any vision correction.

I just find it odd that teams like, the Colts,Steelers, Pats, Eagles always seems to get more calls then their competition!! I know good teams should be good because they make less mistakes, but every team above I mentioned seemed to have obvious penalties ignored, that doesn't make you a better team, you're just always given the benefit of the doubt. You see maybe one or two missed calls in the the other teams favor but the teams above get many more plays ignored in their favor....many more. How many of you have watched the replay of the Steelers game and saw the wide open block in the back on the steelers reverse??? it's not like it was in the middle of the pile they were in the open field and the call should never have been missed and if it were the fins that did it, it wouldn't have been missed, guaranteed.

The Giants/Colts game, seemed every time the Colts threw for a tough first down they got it, when the Giants did the same they got flaged for something, holding, false start , pass interference...something. I saw holding on the Colts...not called, pass interferencce on the Colts....not called!! At the end of the game and the Giants were moving the ball and had a big first down they called offensive pass interference!! How often do you see the Colts called for offensive pass interference??? Never!!!!!!!!! But the Giants are moving the ball and have a chance to win and the flags are flyin. I know we were on the losing end of a game and you don't see the winners complaining, for obvious reasons, but I find it odd that the teams that were supposed to win got the least amount of calls even though they didn't actually commit less penalties. This isn't my imagination!!

I agree that the Phins beat themselves, no way our defense should have let Charlie Batch do the things he did, however, on the double reverse, Heinz Ward not only blocks in the back (Which is still illegal whether or not it is on the line of scrimmage) but he actually tackles from behind (Which is illegal regardless of WHERE you are). That and the hands to the face on 3rd and 16 was pretty obviously a chicken $#it call.
I understand that these guys are human and miss calls, I just get tired of the same teams ALWAYS getting the benefit of the doubt. Makes the NFL pretty unwatchable IMO.

We played like *** in that game, but I've seen a good amount of questionable calls this week. Not a good way to start off the season.

Steelers had 1 penelty for 10 yards. Miami 10 penaltys for 70 yards U do the math the NFL is a joke.

Look at the "RED FLAG" play and you will see that it actually looks like Miller steps out at the 6 not the 1!!!!!!! That is a big difference.

The officials also missed a PI on a huge pass play down the sideline. I'm pretty sure it was Andre Goodman.

The NFL doesn't need to have younger refs. They need to have FULL TIMME REFS! They are the only major sport where the Refs wake up on Tuesday moring and go to their day jobs. It really is ridiculous.
