These are the two most overlooked and under rated NFL players IMO I was looking up stats for fun and here is what I found
1- Torry Holt- Everyone knows he is great, but when talking of top WR's we always say 'Moss, Owens, Chad Johnson, Marvin Harrison'
Well fact is Holt may be the best out there here is how he compares to all time great Jerry Rice through their first 7 seasons
Catches
Holt- 615
Rice- 610
Yards
Rice- 10,273
Holt- 9,447
TD Cacthes *rice has the lead in this one by a lot*
Rice- 103
Holt- 54
If Holt were to play to the age Jerry Did *unlikely* he would break his record for catches and have a shot at the yardage, not to mention Holt may be the best route runner in the NFL, has great work ethic, and always catches it before he tries to run with it
My other most under rated player
2-Clinton Portis here is how he stacks up with Emmit smith to this point in their careers *4 years*
Rushing Yards
Portis- 5818
Smith- 5699
TD's
Smith- 50
Portis- 43
Yards Per Carry
Emmit- 4.7
Portis- 4.7
Now please note im not saying Holt is as good as Rice, or Portis is as good as Smith, Im just saying that for the era they play in, they are putting up great numbers and are often overlooked when talking about great players in the game
Also feel free to post any players you see as not getting the credit they deserve and why
