People message me on how they loved my past "lists" on this site (My Top 75 Greatest Miami Dolphins, My Top 50 Worst Miami Dolphins), and I now plan on doing another one. This will be a tough one. My Top 50 NFL Quarterbacks of All-Time.

Now that Brett Favre has retired, where should we place him among the NFL's all time greatest QBs? I have nominated over 50 QBs for the discussion, and divided them up into five categories: Hall of Famers (All 31 of them), Future (Guaranteed First-Ballot) Hall of Famers, QBs Worthy of the Hall of Fame, Honorable Mentions, and Still Active. Still Active is divided into four categories: On there way up, Stalemate, Got a Ways to Go, Relatively New

I am currently working on my list right now, and will post a future thread on what I belive are my rankings for the top 50 quarterbacks of all time. I challenge all of you to do the same.

WARNING: There are alot of "old school" QBs on my list...it is only fair to consider them as well.

Here are the 50+ Selections to choose from that I thought of:
If you believe someone else deserves to be considered more than someone else, tell me please. Please keep in mind these are just choices for consideration.

Brett Favre - (Enshrined in 2013 if he stays retired)
Peyton Manning
Tom Brady

Ken Stabler
Jim Plunkett
Phil Simms
Joe Theismann
Boomer Esiason

John Brodie
Doug Williams
Charlie Conerly

Archie Manning
Ron Jaworski

Randall Cunningham
Jim Harbaugh
Jim McMahon
Trent Dilfer
Brad Johnson

Active:

On their way up: (If they keep going the way they are going, they can be considered in the future)

SIDE NOTE: - I have Ben and Eli in this group rather than the "Relatively New" Group mainly becuase those two have won SBs already.

Ben Roethlisberger
Eli Manning
Donovan McNabb
Matt Hasselbeck

Stalemate: (These players I think have peaked out, and will go no further)
Kurt Warner
Vinny Testaverde (I have him under active cause he hasn't officially retired yet)
Steve McNair
Trent Green

Got a Ways to Go: (Whether it was injuries, bad teams, etc. that slowed them down...these guys still have a long way to go.)
Daunte Culpepper
Jeff Garcia
Mark Brunell
Drew Brees

Relatively New: (These players have been in the league less than 5 years, but have the potential to be great)
Rex Grossman
Matt Leinhart
Vince Young
Jay Cutler
Vince Young
Carson Palmer
Tony Romo

Ok first vince young shouldnt even be mentioned the guy throws twice as many picks than he does touchdowns and i doubt mcnabb makes his way up it seems like he's never healthy and declining in production but other than that nice list

Tony Romo is on that list under Relatively New....nice list you posted there...good job.

I would put Kurt Warner and Doug Williams in the same category....they both won a SB and that was about it for their careers....I don't think either would be a Hall-of-Famer....Eli Manning will also probably be in this "One and done" category.

great list
it kind of pissed me off today that the media didnt give dan any props
michael wilbon put bart starr above dan
