OK, so I was just watching the game again. (Still am) I just wanted to point out that on the play where Urlacher blitzed and hurt Feeley's butt and took his shoe off, the RBs on that play both went left and Feeley faked to the RIGHT. Now maybe -just maybe- if Feeley would have actually faked the correct direction, it would have slowed the blitz down a little. Now, some will say maybe the back went the wrong way. Possibly...but BOTH backs?
I am only saying this to poke fun a little. I KNOW IT WAS A PRESEASON ERROR. All you Pro-Feeley guys, don't take this too seriously!

Urlachers was a delayed blitz so I doubt the error affected him & Brown was never blocked so even with the error I doubt it really mattered.

I Know. It really wouldn't have mattered. It was just ammusing to see Feeley make a fake to a phantom RB.

So he did have an outlet..

How delayed was the blitz? Did Urlacher really play the delay to a key? COuld Feeley have read it/have a sense that he was comming pre-snap? Or was it completely covered up.

Did u ever think that maybe he wasn't faking but rather stretching out his arms,..... huh?

Maybe he had a nagging feeling he had to get out of their:lol:

I dont want Feeley anywhere near the Dolphins starting position, but that wasnt his fault. Saban said they didnt gameplan nor were the linemen susposed to anticipate a delayed MLB blitz.

I dont know why the Bears were blitzing so much, but that's traditionally not the case in preseason.

It was a delay stunt blitz. Our new FB (his name slips my mind-Hunter I think) should have tried to bump him went he went off the 3 gap and cut it back to the middle. (He ran right by Urlacher) Urlacher came untouched, but Feeley did have time to see him. The reason Feeley DIDN'T see him was because he was doing his typical staring down to someone over to the far right - so he didn't see Urlacher until it was too late. That is exactly what happened. Feeley was SO FOCUSED on someone to the right, that he didn't see (or feel) pressure coming until he caught Urlacher out of the corner of his eye.

LOL. I don;t know how I didn't notice that Monday night. It is pretty funny to see him make a half hearted fake to the wrong side.

I agree, it wasn't his fault. He didn't EXPECT a blitz like that. But the thing about it is, his eyes were SO LOCKED to the right that Heather Mitts could have been dancing naked with Urlacher and he wouldn't have noticed.

On a side note, had he NOT been so enamored with whoever was lined up wide right, he had a TE in the middle he could have hit before Urlacher got there. This is where AJ needs the most improvement.

Maybe it was just a well executed blitz on the part of Chicago. Give credit where credit is due. I don't blame Feeley at all on that play. He stepped up to avoid Brown (which is what QB's are supposed to do) and ran into Urlacher on a delayed middle blitz.

IT WAS a well executed and UNEXPECTED blitz. I was surprised by it so I know Feeley was. I was just poking fun about how Feeley faked the hand off the wrong way. (Our FB also missed an easy chip block on Urlacher that would have slowed him down)

don't try to cloud the issue with extra information.

Wow. That sounds familiar. :dunno:

Funny, I couldn't see his eyes from my TV. So now Feeley isn't supposed to look right or left. I guess if he had been looking straight ahead he could have avoided Urlacher coming in full speed up the middle. I don't think there is anything Feely could have done on that play to avoid a sack.
I think we should stop over analyzing that one play and stop looking for reasons why Feely should have or shouldn't have been sacked.

this is a bit ridiculous. ever hear of the saying "pick your battles?" you may all have legitimate reasons to hate or bash feeley, but this one preseason play isn't one of them.
