I watched the Miami/Carolina game last night until Cleo Lemon came in.

Here are a few of the things I noticed:

Culpepper can throw well, but he throws to nowhere once ever 3 or 4 passes. His knee seems good, but I don't know if he'll be put 400 yards on the ground in a season anymore.

Ronnie Brown was ineffective running, but he was getting open in the passing game. His trouble running is the OL which isn't/wasn't getting a push. Carolina has a good Dl so thats probably part of it.... I think you're gonna see the Bennie Anderson experiance first hand..... Also, how much do you think Mularkey had to do with that 4th and goal guard pull that got Ronnie stuffed.... MM sucks.

Channing Crowder is a real man. He's gonna be a hell of a LB...and it seems like he's grown up a bit off-field wise. Health is another thing, but every player is injury prone IMO....its not if, its when.

Will Allen made some plays. Jason Allen isn't gonna make an impact this year.

Chris Chambers is sick. Amazing possesion WR. He doesn't get deep as much as I thought he would...a few times a year... but he makes catches guys who are 5'11'' don't make. I thought Chad Jackson would have been a good compliment as a deep threat, but maybe Hagan can fill that role eventually.

Big Daddy still gets it done, but that DL is old...especially with Wright and Vickerson being rumored to be out the door.

Pretty good observation.

You forgot to mention how horrible our special teams coverage was last night. I read somewhere on here that it wasn't our 1rst team out there on that 98yd run back. I hope that is the case, becasue after that special teams TD, special teams coverage was pretty bad. We usually have a good coverage team, so I hope they were experimenting with different players.

Oh...yeah.... but the D Williams run happens sometimes.... wedge worked perfectly, guy it the hole perfectly and made one guy miss..... plus nobody is catching him in the open field.

That was NOT our first team ST out there on the 98 yard runback, thank God! Good observations on thread.

Our veteran Sammy Morris missed the tackle at the 20.....from there D'Angelo was gone. Granted, the guy should have had more than one tackle to break, but Sammy should have stopped him. Sammy had a great angle on him and did indeed make contact. Just didn't wrap. that's ok. Mistakes happen. He's been solid in ST's.

It's difficult to take anything you see in the preseason seriously.

-on the goal line stand, Ronnie Brown needs NOT do the studder step!!!!!1 He needs to hit that hole with authority. If there's nothing there, you hit it with authority anyway. Who knows, you might sneak through. Although the line was terrible on that play, Ronnie could have done better. Other than that, he was a beast and proved hard to bring down with one hit. If he stays healthy he will be a double threat as runner and receiver.

-did you see that open field tackle that Will Allen made on that screen pass??? WOW! I thought tat play was going for some serious yardage and Allen just came flying in and made that beautiful open field tackle at the ankles and took the guy down. That play impressed me big time.

-Chambers gets beter every year. If Culpepepper and Chambers can get a rhythym, it will be frightening for the other teams and oh so sweet for us.

I love my TVO. On that special tems play their was a nasty hold on #38. If you record all the games like i do check that out. His pad popped out of his jersey that is how bad it was.

Buddy those were hes intentions until a 340 pound butt gets in front of you and causes you to stutter step. Jeno James messed that hole thing up. He took to long to get to the spot. It was a bad play call for the particullar situation, but that is what pre-season is for.

Vickerson is being rumored to be out the door? Did I miss something?

I felt Mularkey's play calls were fine. Cleo Lemon did a horrible job in the 4th quarter, as none of his passes that he threw were for anything. Just a bunch of 5 yd dump passes, even on 3rd and 10. I saw that Jason Garrett called him over and talked to him late in the game, and then he finally decided to throw the ball down the field.

Culpepper is still shaking off the rust. He will be great for us

Crowder is a great LB and will only get better.

RB had a poor game running, but what could he do? Carolina's defense hadnt allowed a TD to anyone all Preseason (the 1st team).

Will Allen had his best game

Jason Allen just needs experience to become a solid player

And Chambers will be sick, sick, and sick this year

Culpepper throws to nowhere ever 3 or four passes? I dont know what that means.

Mike Mularky does not suck and I think we kept things fluff for Pittsburgh. Im not so sure we would have went for it in a regular season game with a DL like that. We were simply testing the oline and trying to get the points back that we lost to some lame PI call on CC. Saban doesnt care about Preseason so I think that is why we lose points. Mularky did pull one of his gadget plays with Ronnie Brown throwin. Worked. MM does try to pull that stuff off a little too much and I could swear I saw Saban telling him over the headset to cut that crap out now.

Channing Crowder is a hell of a LB. Crowder was teaching Zach the defense last year. So far Crowder hasnt had any injury problems. Knock on wood. What happened in college seams to have been left there. Once again, knock on wood. I dont know where you get injury prone from other than college.

Will Allen makes tackles and plays tight coverage. I wont be missing Madison or Surtain because I think we found guys who know Sabans system or play to his style. Jason Allen wont make a huge impact this year, but come around game 5 or 6, you may see a few plays made here and there. Not making it to camp effects your abilities in preseason. But Saban is a developemental guy who takes his time with players. Allen will make his impact in due time.

CC doesnt get long much because we are intentionally learning to work together on the short to midrange stuff. It seems to work well. I believe our goal is to get first downs and keep control of the clock, which is what we have been doing nicely in all these meaningless games. We will go long though, make no doubt about that. Hagan wont make a huge impact this year but will be a good support player where hopefully next year he becomes the number 2.

Big Daddy may go to the pro bowl if he continues to do what I saw last night. Took two blockers on and just held his ground and hogtied the RB. What a monster.

Apparently, because Wright, Vickerson, and Zgonina are all rumored to be on the block.

Exactly, that was a total blocking meltdown. That was one of the worst guard pulls I've ever seen.
