The Waddle Drops

Here are the league leaders in dropped passes. Tyreek Hill #1, let's get rid of that guy!

When your team wins by 30 points and is presently the #1seed in the AFC, the negative Nancy‘s need something to complain about.
Yes Waddle has had some drops but he barely makes the top 30 in total drops for the season.

No player is perfect. All make some mistakes. Jaylen Waddle is still capable of great plays - his natural talent is self evident. These were a couple of bad drops and he knows it. Nothing to worry about, Jaylen will bounce back.
BTW - Jaylen would be the #1 WR on most other teams. What makes him rare among receivers is that, for his great natural talent, he is a great teammate who just loves to win. He loves it when Tyreek or Mostert or whoever, when they get a big touchdown. He doesn't have the huge ego and narcissism that come with a lot of receivers. I think he's a terrific #2 receiver and his natural speed and instincts make him the perfect complement to Tyreek.

As much as Miami gave up for Waddle you would expect more from him. Cause he does get the case of the dropsies. But he’s also an iron man and hardly misses games. I think Welker needs to work with him more on not catching with his body so much. I’m surprised he doesn’t get catches in stride for TDs like Hill does.

He’s a great player but honestly I wouldn’t trust him to be the #1 WR once Hill retires.

How does us talking about it help him?
it’s a football forum to talk about all the happenings and players on our team..

I never said anything about our words literally helping him, that would be stupid..

If you want to ignore topics about the team you can it’s your choice but criticizing or analyzing a legitimate happening is the essence of a football forum.

He’s got shitty hands which is why he catches with his body. This one he had to use his hands and this was the result.

'Extremely'? No.

'Somewhat'? Absolutely.

Waddle drops way too many passes for a plus player. Indeed... if he wasn't such a dangerous player when he catches it, the drops would suggest a demotion.

Sadly... he's had this issue from day one, and I REALLY hope that he beats it... but most don't.
He had drop issues at Alabama, but mostly on shorter stuff.

I have seen him make dozens of catches with his hands and not use his body. So if his hands are as bad as you state, how did all those catches happen?

Chase Maybe, IMO not Smith.
Waddle came in as a rookie and was fantastic. After the trade for Hill, he has been relegated to the #2 WR position but he would be the the #1 WR on most every other team in the NFL.

I would take him over Smith any day of the week and I believe Smith is an excellent WR. Chase is probably rated higher than Waddle by many pundits but he would just be the #2 WR if he played on the Dolphins with Hill on the roster.

Chase is also a WR who has been faulted for his drops since coming into the NFL. Personally I am extremely happy Waddle is a Miami Dolphin and if that means he drops a pass from time to time, so be it.

What?? How can this be when Waddle drops like 1-2 passes every game? This can't be right, I mean a thread was started about Waddle's drops. He has to be #1 in the league in drops right??

Thank you for this post proving that sometimes Dolphins fans like to make mountains out of mole hills. Waddle is just fine. Every receiver in the league drops passes. Not always like the one he dropped this week, but nobody catches them all.

Has anyone else been extremely disappointed with Waddle this season? I feel like he has been absolutely awful with the drops this year and has cost the team some important yardage that has been missed. He seems to be having a really odd year, I hope this gets turned around heading into the end of the year.
I wouldn't say he's been awful but it is disappointing to see him drop wide open passes like he did yesterday. He's killed a few drives this season. No me gusta
