The Washington Redskins -or- "Bizarro Miami"

He did a great job being secretive

Unfortunately he still made a bad pick, and wasn't able to leverage his 'secrecy' into netting us more picks and getting a quality player.

:shakeno:

You Ronnie Brown haters continue to baffle me... Who exactly did you want at that spot?

Someone other than

a 23 and a half year old RB straight ahead runner who has not tallied a single 1000 yard season IN COLLEGE. And yes, he shared the load in college.

That in my opinion does not bode well for his NFL career.

I don't get the bizarro Miami thing.

It's an old Seinfeld/Superman reference. Represents an opposite world.

He is not a straight-ahead runner. It's a myth. In all honestly, have EVER seen him play?

Yes, I saw him play as a backup at Auburn

He's a straight ahead runner. Those were the majority of the plays called for him. He heads straight for the line and piles through, like a certain other stocky RB who once played for Miami. And not the American Gladiator kind. The other...shy, quiet kind (hey another quality Brown seems to share with him).

#1) He's not even 23 and a half yet. He's 4 months older than Caddy. You're worried about his age, but you admit that he didn't carry a full load in college. Saban thinks he's an every-down back who can carry the load. We shall see.

#2) He tallied over 1000 yards at 5.8 ypc his sophomore year.

He may be a bust. He may be a superstar. Who knows. But you're not helping your case here.

LOL! You consider Ricky Williams a straight ahead runner??

Thanks for helping me with that one

Did you mean total yards or yards running the football, Muck?

If we could have drafted him in his sophomore year that would have been great. He'd still have had room to develop.

....I still wouldn't have spent the #2 overall pick on him.

He's a slow, stocky RB. I see him more in the Jerome Bettis mold.

Cadillac Williams has the look of Walter Payton by contrast.

And this is just in college. But Williams was a more creative runner. In the pros, the difference should be even more stark.

I hope I'm proven wrong. In my opinion, for the pick to be worth it, again...

10 1000 yard seasons as a Dolphin. 5 of those 1500 yards or more. And not combined yards. Yards running the ball.

He is not slow either, and he had over 1000 yards Rushing, not combined.

For a college running back, he has good speed

Compared to the average person, he's fast. As an NFL running back, he's got about Jerome Bettis speed.

175 carries. 5.8 per rush.

He's still got plenty of time to futher develop.

He's faster than Ricky. And Ricky was fast. One thing he is not is Jerome Bettis. And he's a great receiver out of the backfield.

I agree. I think Caddy is the most explosive and has the best vision. Deceptive power. I think he's going to be a terrific player. I'd be happy with him too.

Those are Hall of Fame numbers you're asking for. Emmitt Smith only broke 1500 twice. Peyton did it four times. Barry Sanders did it four times (and came 9 yards short of a fifth).

You realize you're asking for something that I don't believe has ever been accomplished, right??

He ran the 40 yard dash in 4.43 to 4.49s. Was clocked as low as 4.32 unofficially. He is way faster then Bettis.

He is/was. He only bounced it outside after hitting the wall of 10 bodies in front of him 3 yards in the backfield.
