We all have been through this more times than should be required for any NFL fan but, here we go again.

The glass is half full-

Tannehill is the "Chosen One."

Miller and DT wil be a Dynamic Duo.

The OL will be fixed and god to VG.

Wallace will be worth his contract, and give us something special.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Glass is half empty-

Tannehill has to be replaced with a draft pick.

Miller and DT need to be replaced.

The OL will have few options in FA, and will be as bad with picks not ready to play.

Wallace and RT will have the same problems on deep throws, and will never click.

Choices?

I'm a half full guy. I'm not going to say tannehill is great but I will say I'm excited to see someone else teach and coach him up. No matter what side you are on Tannehille has a ton of potential and I'm excited to see what lazor brings to the table

Yea I'm still half full ... after all even with our late season meltdown we did go 8 and 8.

Fix the OL first and the rest will follow. Next we need a power back so Miller can be used less but more effectively.

Tannehill showed progress having doubled his TD's from the first year but did nothing the last two games so we need to see more before a final verdict.

I'm 3/4 full, given your circumstances.

Tannehill - I support him but wont anoint him yet
Miller and DT - miller maybe has a future but DT is a bust and a half
OL - can be fixed, but I don't see it being very good for awhile

Words to live by..

Half full here. It is only the "half empties" who sarcastically mention Tannehill as the Chosen one. I'm sure most if not all the half full's fall into one of the following mindsets of Tannehill, all which are legit and viable.

(A) He is in his second year and has done well enough considering what is around him
(B) Pulling the plug on Tannehill would be moronic considering we have spent 12 years looking for a franchise QB and we finally have someone with enough upside to work with and see if he can be molded.
(C) Tannehills first couple of years are roughly equivalent to the first couple years of guys like Brees and Brady so there is no reason to panic or pull the plug.
(D) Most the NFL scouting talents rate Tannehill as a franchise QB and or potential Pro Bowler.
(E) He had a run of 5 games where in that span he was ranked in the top 5-7 QB's in the league, no reason to not expect that all season when the team gets better.
(F)His wife was voted hotter than Brady's (1st overall mater of fact) on a poll of NFL players wives. It's not quite beating Brady on the field, but we will take it!

Our RB's and OL blow but we can fix those. Wallace will be fine and grow with Tannehill and Lazor.

Or this...

I vote for half-full. I love the potential of our receiving corp. Wallace should have had 8 TDs this year, and I believe the deep ball can be fixed. Just get a semi-consistent line with some push in the running game, and the offense will explode.

Here's something I consider. Pouncey was the best pass blocking C in the NFL. Cg was VG and a former Pro Bowler, Jerry was top ten in pass blocking (sucked on the run), Clabo sucked for 7 games but was VG the rest of the season, LT was a mess but, Martin was improved no matter what ya think.

IMO, the O improves or dies with Lazur, and a new player or two on the OL.

Half empty.
This offense was pathetic. Our play calling was predictable and unimaginative, and we could not run the ball in running situations. That has been fixed-check

If we go the free agent route on oline, there could be some immediate improvement if the right players are selected. Too early to tell.

If we go with the draft, drafting 5 new guys for the oline might take 2-3 years before it can become a strength.

Obviously, we need a blended approach. Sign a guy to solidify RT, and resign McKinnie or sign Albert, and then plug in 2 big strong mobile guards from the draft. The interior of our line was extremely soft and allowed for quick inside pressures. that has to be corrected or Tannehill will continue to get battered. Pouncey is not a elite center IMHO. He is solid though. He needs to be paired up with strong guards.
Next year, look for a left tackle and right tackle.

Apart from Garner, our back ups are lousy. Maybe Dallas Thomas can be counted with a year under his belt. The rest need to be replaced.

This draft should address the oline, linebacker, and running back

Choices?

I'll mix and match:

Tannehill should be judged on how he performs this upcoming season, at the end of season 3 if the only thing people can say is he "has potential" it may be time to start examining an alternate solution

If Miller and DT were replaced I wouldn't shed a tear, but hopefully it would be in favor of RBs that can get the job done.

I think the OL can be fixed, I expect at least one high round pick to be used and at least one high end FA acquisition. Not expecting them to shoot up to a top 3 line, but they should be vastly improved (which isn't saying much)

I think Wallace will be used better, not sure if he and Tannehill will ever be able to connect on the deep throws - this is on Lazor as much as is it is on Tannehill and Wallace

I think its doubtful that Wallace will ever live up to his contract, as you have to overpay to get the top FA in this league. He certainly can perform better though, and be more involved - this is on him, Lazor and Tannehill (and the new GM if he can put together something that resembles an Oline)

This is 100% determined by your view on Tannehill - every other position on this offense is supplemental to him/the QB position.
