I know im new, but i have been reading for quite a while now,and i have to admit that some on this forum dont understand the bad shape our team was in when coach saban took over. It drives me crazy to hear people calling for coaches head after 2 years. you know we are very lucky to even have him!
seems to me after wannstache we would be grateful, we could have ended up with a lot worse. i just thank god he chose to come here! now our team is in bad shape, no qb, oline problems, and no playmakers on o, but honestly with our cap problems how could anyone fix it this fast? i hear alot of people chastising saban for not getting brees over cpep, i guess you just dont understand we couldnt afford him. the qb that will lead us to a sb appearance isnt even on the team right now. before we can even worry about that we need players around that pos. we need a true #1 receiver, a true left tackle and a te that can stretch the field and catch. i believe all of these will be found through the draft in the next 2 years then we can worry about a qb. yeah i know brees is good but i dont believe he would have done much more here than what we have and quite possibly wouldnt have made it through this season with our oline. saban will lead us to a championship, but it is going to take time and patience. he will not mortgage the franchise for a quick run. he will continue getting low priced vets to fill stop gap and draft our future. the next 2 years will be much the same as now, we will be competitive, we will be in most games with about 8 wins per then in 3 years we will look up and truly be able to say thank god for nick saban:dolphins:

I.M WITH YOU ABOUT SABAN BEING A GOOD COACH :dolphins: BUT WE WILL BE SUPER BOWL CHAMPS NEXT YEAR PEP AND RICKY AND RONNIE

i wish you were right but talent wise on o still wouldnt be enough

The way I see it, you are criminally insane. First of all, McMichael may not be an all star -- but he is far from a huge need position. You say we need to wait 2 years to get these other blocks, then get a QB???????? Well, by then, our defense will have to be overhauled, because I know JT may be one of the best in the league... And Zach... But as much as I love them, are you smoking something that makes you think they can play till they are 40?

Disagree. This team does not have elite talent, but they are on par with teams like the Broncos, Chiefs and Pats. They certainly have more talent than the Jets. All those teams are in a wildcard hunt.
The Phins started 1-6 largely because Saban didn't have them ready to play.
Last season they were one of the most penalized teams in the league. That is a sign of poor coaching.
Saban is 2-5 against 1st yr coaches this yr. First yr coaches are usually there because their teams were playing poorly and the prior coaches were fired.

what are you smoking... they werent ready because we have no talent in key positions. do you ever watch any other games, ever seen how many wr get wide open, did you see thomas ne tight end on that diving td catch if that was mcmike they have no chance completeing that. and when it really matters we cant run the ball. yeah sure we beat ne but that was coaching

I don't get it. How do we lose to Pitt, Buffalo, Houston & Green Bay and then beat Chicago, KC and New England? We have the players. We should have won at the very least 2 more games to start this season. Those players were in the wrong places and completely unprepared. It's almost entirely coaching.

Saban can be a good coach, he's proven that by beating a couple of the elite teams in the NFL. He's also proven that he doesn't define the problem areas fast enough and/or change those areas. Some extremely simple moves changed the Dolphins from one of the worst teams in the league to a potential playoff contender. Unfortunately those moves took him a month and a half.

I agree with jlfin...Poor coaching has doomed this team this year. We were not prepared to play most of the games we played. Saban did step up and get the team prepared to play his friend and during Thanksgiving. Hopefully he has them ready to play on tonights MNF game and we dominate the jets. He needs to do better then this next year.

oh diddly pooh , randy is just having a bad year and saban isnt gods greatest gift to coaching. nick has some flaws in his slaw and that is he needs to hold some of our knuckleheads accountable for their misdeeds. all we really need is the following and we will be improved.

we need 2 free agent olinemen.
we need another good runningback cause morris and minor arent
cutting it.
we absolutly need to draft 1 cb , 1 dt, 2 olb, and 2 wrs one to return punts and kickoffs and another to be a big and fast receiver.
we should cut hagan and trade chambers .
we absolutly must draft a qb sometime and soon will be fine with me.

we need to fire dingdong aka mularkey regardless of our stability stability will be stable if we get the right guy. the problem is we hired chan gailey who became a head coach , thus enters norv turner a good move but that wasnt going to last, thus enters a knuckle head foerester who should have been a clown at wanny's press conferences.:sidelol: :cooldude:

we should cut hagan

Classy. How long have you been watching the NFL, dude? The simple rule is: rookie receivers always suck. There are some exceptions every now and then, but usually, they play rather poor in their first year. Of course Hagan drops a lot of passes but that was to be expected. Looking beyond the usual rookie problems, I see a pretty good receiver who runs good routes, gets open on a regular basis and blocks nicely. Give him another year or two.

Hagan is big, strong and fast. I would be astounded if we cut him because I feel eventually he can be a starting reciever for us.

I think one of the problems is the coaching staff is too conservative. They need to open it up more, especially in games like tonights, where Miami has nothing to lose.
