Picks 1-5 are almost set in stone.

TB- Winston

Tenn- Williams

Jax- Fowler (or pass rusher of their preference)

Oak- White (or WR of their preference)

Wash- Gregory (or pass rusher of their preference)

It's pick #6 where things get interesting.

The Jets have a number of needs, including QB. Everybody knew they wanted Bradford but they had nothing the Rams would take for him.

Mariota would leave them, one giving up on Geno and two, they would have no 'reliable' starter day one.

The Eagles swoop in trading Foles for Bradford in a trade that made sense for the Rams due to the cap implications, they got a guy who's still in his rookie deal. Now the Eagles are trading up to the Jets spot, using Bradford as part of the deal. There was no other reason why Chip would pull this trade, Foles was fine, Bradford is not a great upgrade.

The Jets also need a pass rusher since Pace only had .5 sacks, is old, expensive AND, Bowles wants his own version of Houston. They want a pass rusher and the good ones will be gone by #20, so, the Eagles need to trade up to get in position for that, also the trade from #20 to #6 would take a lot of picks, so, here we could trade down with the Eagles, so they can trade up from #14 to #6 using less ammo.

I see Jordan plus #14 for Kendricks, #20 and their 3rd. We recoup our 3rd, dump Jordan's contract AND fill a hole at MLB, the Eagles get in position to trade up with the Jets for Mariota using #14, Bradford and whatever picks the Jets can juice out of them and bring Jordan 'home'. The Eagles just got Alonso, making Kendricks expendable. They need a thumper next to Alonso and Matthews is better in that role than Kendricks. The Jets get their QB, pass rusher and a pick (who knows what they can fleece Chip for). Kendricks was drafted by Reid for his 46 defense, he's undersized for the 3-4.

I hate this will really help the Jets but it'll still happen if we don't participate. Chip is THAT determined.

After that...

Chi- Cooper. They traded BMarsh away.

Falcons- Danny Shelton, Big Paul could be a FA again soon.

NYG- OL, either Sherff or Peat.

STL- OL whomever the NYG don't take

Minn- Parker

Cle- Strong

NO- Beasley

NYJ (from us through Eagles)- Ray

SF- Real wildcard right here, needs everywhere. They're in full rebuild mode IMO. QB could be an option, perhaps the Eagles stiffest competition to trade up. They could very well just send Big Bird and this pick to the Jets for Mariota. If they miss out, (which they will, no one is denying Chip) they could very well be a trade down partner for them too. IMO they give the Jets leverage and take leverage from us. We will have to ask the Eagles for less than they would. They could also send Big Bird to the Browns for one of their picks. It gets even tougher from here on. Help would be appreciated.

Thats a lot of moving parts for what is typically a hectic day

There's gonna be atleast 2-3 trades before our pick

Joey,

You really want to move Jordan to philly don't you? (I've seen your comment about trading Jordan to philly in several threads now)

I personally want to see what Jordan can do at LBer. And either BPA or move down. IMO no way we think of moving up at all.

Not going to trade Jordan... Not this year and not next. They like his potential, they just haven't figured out how to use it yet..

BUT I would like to trade down if top 3 receivers are gone. We'd recoup that 3rd. and it wouldn't cost one of our talented young guys to get it.......

Agreed. If anything, they trade down. I want to see Jordan in year 3. We don't get enough in return for him to move him. He is athletically freakish. If he can stay clean and motivated, I think he can still be an effective player.

I saw a mock draft by one of the nfl.com guys and he had the jets taking gurley, saying all their needs were filled other than rb! My jaw dropped at that statement. does he really think all the jets need is a rb? Does he really think gurley will go at #6? I will be shocked but happy of it happens because it would be a dumbass pick with all their needs. I like how they got revis back though so maybe waynes falls to us! Or amari Cooper. I think one of these two guys is gonna drop to us and I for one think we take either one if available.

Edit: also Sam Bradford wouldn't last the year in the afc east. Not with suh and super mario chasing him around.

I'm done with Jordan, personally. Never wanted him, hated the pick. Loved the value in the trade, hated the pick. Should have just taken Lane Johnson.

I wouldn't be opposed to this plan, but I see a flaw.

When Philly trades up to #14, they're gonna have to spend "ammo" that won't leave them enough to move up to #6 ... Without mortgaging the next year(s) draft.

I saw the same and couldnt help but laugh.

In a trade, Jordan will cost us $6.7M in cap space this year, save nothing, and add in another $1M in dead money.

Next.

The Cowboys are visiting with Melvin Gordon......maybe we could work a deal with them....our 14th pick for their 27th, 60th and a player.

And could we absorb that cause we would get a starting MLB in his rookie contract?

And, absorb the hit now to save next year for Suh's contract and Tanne's extension?

No, not this year, too many other needs to use the money for. IF we want Kendricks, he should be there at #14 without the deal. You're costing us the same as the Clay never ending deal with no benefit.
