The Western Conference Finals Thread: Phoenix Suns vs. the Dallas Mavericks

I've picked the Suns in every series so far. However, it stops here. I think the Mavs are going to pull this one out. I think they have far too much talent on the roster. Only injuries might steal this one from them.

Phoenix will be cut short yet again, but should be proud of themselves this year.

They can't warn me - he's the one who issued a personal attack.

I didn't retaliate by getting personal. I'd never see him in the streets, so what's the purpose? I attacked Raja Bell instead. :cooldude:

this coming from someone who told someone to "go kill themselves" for saying Jason Allen=Eddie Moore.

Uh, stop twisting my words. I don't remember that, but if I did say that, it didn't come out that way at all. And, do you really think I wanted the person to kill themself? Please. It's a common phrase used.

Besides, what the hell does that have to do with anything here? You're an instigator for even bringing that up. You're using something against me that happened probably in April, just because I didn't retaliate here and get banned, which is probably what you'd like to see??

Hop off the sack. All you do is follow me around on this forum; the Heat thread to be specific. Do you have a favorite team of your own? Hell, do you even like basketball??

I am not twisting any words at all. Your exact words were "Go kill yourself now". You said it on 4-30 in the "Jason Allen=Eddie Moore" thread.

I don't remember that, but if I did say that, it didn't come out that way at all.

Wrong. Those were your exact words. You might not "remember" it because of the fact that the mods edited it for content.

And, do you really think I wanted the person to kill themself? Please. It's a common phrase used.

Of course I don't think you really wanted them to kill themselves, but it's a bit worse than somebody calling you a punk. As far as common phrase used...how come I haven't seen anybody besides you use it in threads?

That's all I'll say on the subject to prevent derailing the thread. I'm humored that you accused me of twisting your words when the exact quote was "Go kill yourself now". I'll allow you five minutes before you come back with "You took it out of context".

I don't have any personal beef with you--I call anybody out. You have a bit of an attitude and I'm just trying to help you...because if you carry that with you through your twenties, it will come back to haunt you. I was the same way at 19, I've been there.

You didn't take it out've context - if that's what I said, then that's what I said. I was using the phrase in a jokingly way, but I'm not stuck up on it. That was almost a month ago judging by the date you dished out, and it wasn't even to the extreme point for me to get a PM by the staff. Still, if I've got something to say, I'm one who is known to say it. I respect the staff & the TOS, but it's not gonna hold me back from voicing my opinion, whether it's extreme or not. I'll take the consequences, because it's just the net - I'm not gonna suffer from it. But hey, it is what it is, man. Truthfully, I don't think you should've even brought that up.

Nah, this is an extreme case of you taking something said on the internet, message boards at that, too seriously. If you hear a lot of things I've said on this forum that may look extreme, in person, you'd think the 100% opposite. I may be one of the most sarcastic people you'd ever meet, if you knew me. In the real world, I've been called one of the easiest brothas to get along with by many different people of many different cultures, because I'm real. :cooldude:

I was one of the guys who took this off topic, so I feel like it's my responsibility to get it back on track:

Game 4 is tomorrow night with Dallas up 2-1. Raja Bell it out, and Dallas has the momentum. What do you guys look for? Phoenix will need to get maximum efforts out've every player to get this series tied up as they go back to Dallas. Big game for the Mavs as well, because Raja looks like a possibility for Game 5, and it's always great to go home 3-1, with a close out game. Thoughts?

I think Phoenix pulls this one away desperately, but Dallas still wins the series.

Nash says Suns need to show more fight for Game 4

Sporting a small wound over his right eye, Phoenix point guard Steve Nash was backed up against a wall as he met with reporters after practice Monday.

That's where Nash's Suns will find themselves if they don't play better in Game 4 of the Western Conference finals Tuesday night. They're feeling bruised, but not beaten, after a 95-88 Game 3 loss to Dallas on Sunday left them trailing 2-1.

Afterward Nash, who got cut early in the game, said the Suns needed to show more fight. On Monday, Nash said he wasn't trying to send a message through the media because he had told his teammates the same thing.

"I think at times we've been a little too passive," Nash said.
The Suns have to change that quickly or they will be eliminated one step short of the NBA Finals for the second consecutive season.

"It's a must-win-game situation Tuesday night," Phoenix coach Mike D'Antoni said. "We win that, it's a two-out-of-three series. Obviously they have home court, but we've shown that we can win there."

Nash said one reason for the Suns' struggles is the absence of guard Raja Bell, who has missed the last two games with a strained left calf. Bell is not expected to play in Game 4.

Bell scored only eight points in Phoenix's 121-118 Game 1 victory at Dallas. But he brings a fire that the Suns have lacked in the last two games. It was Bell who floored Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant in Game 5 of the opening round, drawing a flagrant foul and a one-game suspension. The Suns won that game and the next two to rally from a 3-1 deficit.

Bell said he agreed with Nash's assessment that the Suns had their shoulders slumped in the second half Sunday night, when they scored only 36 points.
