According to Armondo at the Miami Herald, the new formation was called the "Wildcat" formation.

Once Brown faked to Ricky then scored a TD

Once Ricky Ran for a huge gain

Once Ronnie passed for a TD.

About time we found a way to feature our best players.

Alright, its our turn for fun. What other possiblilites could we have out of this formation? Remember Pennington is out wide. What about Ginn?

I'd like to see Ginn coming around instead of Ricky. I think that could be another explosive option.

Great game, and love the play calling, but don't get ahead of yourself, This isn't new it was a formation made popular by Arkansas with McFadden. Remember this is the NFL, they caught the Pats by suprise with it, but it's not something that will work in the NFL on a weekly basis.

the best part of using this now, is that teams are gonna have to practice against it. meaning that they will need to waste time trying to stop it, whether they use it again or not. teams will have to be ready for it. giving the dolphins a small edge when it comes to game prep

I liked it but didn't like seeing Pennington lined up as a WR. Couldn't they have taken him out and put in another TE or WR?

Exciting stuff! Who wants to bet those nasty Patriots will start copying our plays now aside from stealing our mediocre players.

Next time we go screen pass to Pennington who then throws a bomb to Ginn down the opposite sideline:up:

Actually, Brown scored 3 of his rushing TDs after faking to Williams on a direct snap. Two came on nearly identical goal line situations and the other was his 62-yard jaunt.

I disagree. You have to prepare for it now, so yes they may stop it, but not stop other stuff.

Handing off to Ricky like that in motion is fast to the outside. I am not sure that teams will have speed to stay with that consistantly with Ronnie faking and running. It spreads the D out in a flash. I do not think we will over use it, but one thing is for sure, Ronnie runs it great. Teams will have to account for it and I am almost positive they run more stuff off of it.

With the way our offensive line blocked I see a lot of team's having trouble with this new formation.

It's awesome and it's a big part of the reason Miami won today. We raped the Patriots. They had it coming.

Ginn being back there as an option is intriguing. And Ronnie taking the ball and an option to Ricky can be deadly. Speed or strength - the D chooses its poison! Lets call it the WILDFIN not wildcat!

Does anyone know if we have any recievers that used to play QB at some point? Run a reverse to a reciever who can run or throw would be amazing. Im so thrilled with this. You can't use it every down, but 6-10 formations a game will completely throw teams off balance. Jayson Foster would have come in handy!
