Some people love it, some people hate it.

Both Thomas and Clay ran the wildcat in college and both are back in the game this Sunday, Daboll ran it like crazy at Cleveland, are we going to see a return of the wildcat?

I think so.

I don't think it'll be used like it was in previous seasons, especially if Henne is playing well, but more for short yardage plays. Situations where in the past the Dolphins would have relied on Polite on 3rd n' 1 and in the red zone where the Dolphins stalled out twice Monday night.

I think we probably would have seen it Monday had Thomas and Clay been active.

So, whatcha think? Aside from I hate it.

If we start to show a trend in failing to convert in 3rd and short, I don't see why they won't resort to it by the 3rd quarter. Heck, the wildcat seems less of a gimmick than when they put Solia at FB.

Nothing wrong with a true power running formation when the situation presents itself.

On a 4th and goal a half yard out, would you rather see the wildcat or another low percentage fade route to Hartline?

Only way I want to see the Wildcat is if Henne is having a bad game and we need a spark to our offense. IF Henne is balling though, just leave him in and let him play and do his thing.

The only thing the wildcat did for us last year is kill drives AND Henne's rhythm. If I see them get into a wildcat formation this year, I'll hold a knife over my wrist.

I don't like the wildcat. If it is successful in short yardage, Chad will be off the field again. It will disturb the continuity.
We need to get better line man and RB's so we can run the ball like a normal offense.

agreed. it provides extra OLinmen and direct snap. makes perfect sense. thats why most of the league is now using it.

I will add though that you use it only once and then chad back in.

BTW, we were that good without clay and thomas and little usage of gates. just imagine when they start playing in this offense with regularity? more wrinkles the better week to week.

Throw the football. Rule changes directly benefit the passing game. That's why running backs are a dime a dozen these days.

Wildcat is nothing more than a play you'd use a couple of times a game if at all.

Everyone in the league has figured it out. It's not catching anyone off-guard anymore.

Be serious.

If we use it successfully I want it. I don't care if we are known as the flea flicker maniacs, as long as it's a play that we use well and it works!

It's definitely not dead, every team will be using it.

You still have to block and get a push (which our oline didn't) and try not to have holding calls (Icognito) on good runs by Reggie.

Having a rookie with previous fumbling issues (Thomas) running the wildcat sounds like a recipe for disaster

the wildcat is not dead, thomas can run it so can clay and daboll ran it last year, sparano even said in an interview a few weeks back that we were tinkering with the wildcat
