The Willis McGahee Get Well Thread

Just wanted to say, loved the kid at the U, got a tough break in the Ohio State game, and tonight suffered a horrific injury.

My prayers are with him, and we all wish him a speedy recovery!

I just wanted to make a place where people could collect their well wishes for him.

They said that he was talking and moving all his limbs, but he had tons of pain in his neck. Hopefully it was just a bad whiplash and he'll be fine, best of luck Willis!

I certainly am not a medical expert but the way they were talking it seemed as through be may have broken some vertebrae in his neck. But, it may also just be severe whiplash.

Regardless, best wishes go out to him.

it was a concussion, he got knocked out and had some whiplash, but nothing serious.

Not saying it to be a smartass, but just letting everybody know he's gonna be good.

Thats what I was thinking too when it happened. I think he's definitely been a very tough and resilient athlete throughout his career though.

A league source tells us that Ravens running back Willis McGahee suffered a concussion on that wicked fourth-quarter hit from Steelers safety Ryan Clark.
Per the source, McGahee is “OK.”

even before it came out today I was pretty sure it was a concussion in talking to my uncle (whose a doctor), he was moving his legs and his arms, plus his eyes were open. McGahee got knocked out because both he and Clark turned their heads right before collision.

Exactly. One he's moved his arms and legs he's good unless swelling in the spinal cord occurs. Usually, they're in the process of medication intervention seconds after a hit like that just to be sure. He suffered a concussion, becasue if you get knocked unconcious by a blow, that's what it is, by definition. Probably suffered some soft tissue damage and maybe a cracked cervical or two as well.
