TALLAHASSEE -- Jimbo Fisher knew it during the spring. Florida State's receivers figured it out during the summer. Now, the rest of the college football world is catching on to the fact that Christian Ponder is not just developing into a capable quarterback, but a special one.
In the past two weeks, Ponder's name has been added to watch lists for two postseason honors -- the Maxwell Award for the nation's top player and the Manning Award for the nation's top quarterback -- and his disappointed fans flooded Internet message boards when he was not named a semifinalist for another, the Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award.

FSU coach Bobby Bowden said the junior's play has even piqued the interest of NFL scouts. ``He's beginning to attract a lot of attention -- you can tell by the pros that come out here,'' Bowden said.
Through seven games, Ponder already has passed for more yards than he did in 13 games last season. He also has improved his accuracy -- from 55.7 percent in 2008 to 70.0 percent in 2009 -- and reduced his interceptions from an average of one per game to one in seven games.

Jacory isn't anything special.
 
Ponder will be playing on Sundays. It will be interestingto see when his draft time comes where he'll be drafted.

Seems like the dude is putting it all together. It seemed like he had the pieces- arm strength, accuracy, mobility, etc., but now it's kind of gelling and he's in control, making the right decisions, all of that good stuff. On top of his game, as it were. It will be interesting indeed to see how far this guy flies up draft boards. #1 with a bullet? You never know, we'll see. But it kind of smells like a big rise waiting to happen to me. As with all of these guys, Locker included for this year's draft, I want to see more.
 
i love what ponder has come on and done, after watching him play last year, i didn't think he'd be this good right now.. i wonder if he even comes out for the draft, i'm no scout but i'd say he's a 4th round prospect this year, maybe could peak to a late 1st or second next year.
I'd be really interested in the opinions of scouts of this guy, I have big noles glasses on and i don't want to post tons of accolades.

i just wish we didn't give up 40+ pts per game on defense
