The WORST two minute drill:

That was, without a doubt, the WORST two minute drill I have ever seen in my entire life. Words cannot give justice to how ridiculous, pathetic, stupid, and humiliating that was. I don't even know where to begin....

-The 36 second run off before calling a timeout?
-The timeout taken when there was an injured Colts player on the field?
-Not getting a second play off before the two-minute warning?
-The Fasano one-yard screen pass which didn't make it out of bounds?
-The two running plays to start the drive?
-Chad Pennington's quarterback sneak on 3rd and 1?
-The final throw of the game to Bess and Camarillo?
-The DROPPED BALL by Ted Ginn Jr?

Why this loss is especially bad:

Indy is no longer an elite team, just a good one. Tonight, however, they showed they are still miles ahead of the Dolphins.

All the intangibles were in Miami's favor. Most importantly, this game was at home, where Miami has historically done very well early in the season as other teams struggle to adjust to the heat. The Colts best defensive player (former DPOY) was out with an injury. Freeney and Mathis, as good as they are on turf, would be consideradbly slowed down on natural grass and dirt. (they each still got a sack in this one, however) The undersized Colts line and near league worst run defense would be taken advantage of by the Dolphins who would run at will on them and control the clock. In many ways, this came to fruition.

Offensively, the Colts were as vulnerable as they've ever been. Let's be honest -- they only put up 14 points total against the lowly Jaguars at HOME in the first week to squeak out a win. Addai isn't his old self, the O-line isn't its old self. There is no 3 headed monster at WR anymore, only Wayne who should be easily double covered all night and neutralized. Nonetheless, Manning finds a way to exploit the Dolphins defense, making it look absolute terrible despite having few weapons to do so, and Dallas Clark, the slowest guy on the field, has a career high 170+ yards receiving.

As great as our offense was able to control the clock and dominate the game - the Colts Offense never even had to break a sweat. They beat us in 15 minutes! What does this really say about our defense and team overall?

Yep I agree with all points, poor play calling, poor WR play, poor clock management, TERRIBLE tackleing and even worse play by the safetys. I do have to blame this one on the defense, the offense has the ball for 45 mins AND YOU LOOSE?

you also forgot ginn catching the ball 1/2 yard short of the first down and going out of bounds with nobody around.........

Oh man, im really trying to forget just how terrible that final drive really was, the worst ive ever seen. But something I mentioned in another thread is why Miami always insists on burning timeouts before getting down to the final 2-3 minutes of a game, EVERY GAME! We always seem to find a way to burn these timeouts and it always comes back to haunt us.

Not that it would have mattered as much last night since our offense likes taking the scenic route back to the LOS during a 2 minute drill, lol

I believe was a 3 minutes and 18 seconds drill. And all would be forgiven if TGJ got the ball and you could not ask any qb ANY 2 throw one better cause that was perfect.

Without a doubt the most egregious part of that them running off a minute and a half, using a time out AND the 2 minute warning to gain exactly 4 yards.

That makes it even worse! For as great as we OWNED the clock the entire game, we looked like a bunch of amateurs at the end. Seriously I've seen high school teams do a much better job! When the entire stadium is booing and yelling at you to hurry the hell up.. It really was that pathetic.

Your kidding me!! Wow. The whole point is to get out of bounds in the 2 min drill to save time which Penny just didn't seem to get. We had 2 more down to get half a yard. If his forward progress gets stopped in bounds we lose more time. Come onj get off bash Ted Ginn.

The whole team was like cows getting to the line. This was sad just sad.

the only gripe i got was on that sack that penny was deep in the pocket for too long he should have stepped up where carey was when he got beat, bad pocket awareness from penny this one time

When I rewatched the game it really comes down to the coaches. The enite offense looked unprepared to run the 2 minute drill. WTF? DO we not practice this? It was embarassing. They all were confused.

Add to that the call of a QB sneak...on a 3rd down...with time running out and no timeouts....probably one of the WORST calls I have ever seen in my life. I think the hurry up offense problem is on the coaches as much as the players.

Yeah it seems a lot of the national media is putting the blame on the coaching staff for last nights loss. This is Bill Simmons (ESPN) --who I can't stand by the way via his twitter account: @sportsguy33

My postgame question for Tony Sparano: "Tony, that's one of the worst coaching jobs I've ever seen. I don't have a question." about 13 hours ago from web

I don't see the fans mentioning the coaching and especially Sparano. Isn't it his responsibility to prepare them for these situations? Our fans all seem to be targeting specific players at fault. How much of this loss is on the coaches and will they take any responsibility for it?

I agree 100% in the 4th quarter.

So far Tony seems satisfied in his play calling.
