Espn radio just announced a rumor at about 5:30 that Nick Saban is not happy in the pros and might be considering taking over for Coker at the U. Just a rumor for now, but pretty interesting.

This was also posted in the VIP section by someone else last night and someone else backed it up with the same report I heard today at 5:30.

I don't think it will happen either. But still wanted to share. Sounds like they had nothing better to make up and just put Saban there because rumor is Coker is going to get fired and Nick is already in Miami and having a bad season.

This is probably bogus, but on the off-chance it happens, who do you think we replace him with? Rivera from the Bears, maybe?

I wouldn't be surprised. So far his coaching philosophy isn't working. he's probably discouraged and wants to get back to where reverse psychology works.

Just a thought...throw the bank at Cowher if he doesn't re-sign with Pitt.

Man I hope Saban has more fortitude than just cutting out at the first sign of things not going his way. It would make all his speeches BS

I doubt it. I listened to ESPN all day and heard nothing of the kind. If this was playe dlast night and again at 2:30 p.t., I would think that Dan Patrick, Colin Cowherd and Mike an dMike in the morning would have mentioned SOMETHING about it.

To me, it sounds like something made up, or Eric Kuselias possibly throwing that out there, with no base or merit.

Saban is out of his league so far in the NFL, Linehan saved him last season but now he has Mularkey not much help there. The players seem to be losing all respect for him and it's really hard to turn that around. I'm sure he feels like the world is crumbling around him so that would be the easy way out to cut tail and run back to college so it wouldn't really surprise me to see it.

Just a thought...throw the bank at Cowher and hope it lands on him and kills him!

I really doubt that this report is accurate. With that said, I'd suggest Al Saunders if Miami did need a coach. I would really hate to see that happen, though. I always wanted Brad Childress for the Miami job, and everything he has done in Minnesota so far (including dumping Culpepper, and I have stood by that since it happened) suggests to me that he would have made a good choice.

The Miami Dolphins will win a super bowl before the Canes win another National title...Miami and FSU are on the outs as programs that win it all...

Saban is out of his league? Based on what? Guess Belichick was out of his league as well when his start wasn't all roses.

As for your assertion that the players are losing respect for him, give some evidence to back that up.

Finally, you're "sure" he feels the world is crumbling around him. Tell me, what else does he feel? Do rainy days bring him down? I didn't know we had a resident expert on Saban's feelings.

This rumor is crap, pure crap. Does Saban seem like the kind of guy who runs away from a challenge?
