How special is it to have Wes on crossing routes? There's no LB that'll be able to stay with him -- plus he's not just fast he actually catches the ball!. Third downs are going to be fun this year. The opposition is going to have to bring a safety in close to the first down marker to mark him. That leaves the others in good position on deep posts or lobbing it to mcMike down the middle . I think we'll see a lot of big plays on third downs this year!

Welker was great. Another play I noticed was there all day was the quick screen to the WR. Denver kept playing about ten yards off of the line and Frerotte exposed it a couple of times. Hiked the ball and just threw it out right away. We got some decent gains on that to McMichael and one other player.

Back to Welker. You know, he has that greta ability to kind of be the forgotten man by the defense. He runs his routes, sits down in the opening and waits for the ball. As long as Gus can get it to hi, we should be fine. He also has a nose for that first down marker as well, which is very helpful.

Wes was awesome! I think he had some of the best hands of the day also. Between him and Booker they caught about everything thrown at them. Wes is too fast for one of the LB's to cover so he just finds openings and Gus was looking for him. Everytime he touches the ball though you feel like something big is about to happen. He just has an excitement factor to him. He is becoming one of my favorite players.

I think Wes is quicker than he is fast, and that makes a great slot receiver. Samphin - I noticed the screens too. Thats the benefit if an actual GAME PLAN. When people play off the line, it let our receivers actually just work with the ball after the catch. It was beautiful! Thats what the PATRIOTS DO!

I don't want to compare to the Pats --but the execution of our offense was strikingly similar. You'd see multiple receivers out there, and taking advantages of mismatches and people playing off the line. I'd even venture to say that Gus actually made some READS at the line of scrimmage.

What else did I love? We didn't let up with the lead. If we were winning, Wanny would have been like "Okay, we are up by 10 points. Time to run, even if we get stuffed every time." What did we do after they scored? Immediately put the ball in the AIR. HECK YEAH!
