Theismann: The Miami Dolphins' acquisition of Joey Porter is what puts them over the top. My second choice is probably the New England Patriots because they eliminated a lot of their defensive worries with the signing of versatile linebacker Adalius Thomas. But it's hard to vote against a Dolphins team with Porter, Zach Thomas and Jason Taylor. This defense is a beast.

Not that unexpected. We had the 4th best defense last year, and it returns pretty much intact, sans Kevin Carter. Plus, Joey Porter is a huge upgrade over Spragan, so I am not surprised for them calling us the #1 defense.

Problem is our offense is on the other end of the spectrum.

Theismann is still an idiot. I love how some of us called him a flaming moron when he absolutely buried Ricky Williams, but we're now acting like his words are worth two cents. I've learned by lesson about getting caught in the pre-season hype...It just leads to post-season heartbreak when it involves us.

Yea he maybe the best OLB in the league . . . but they still have a great defense w/o him . . . plus technically he still is on the team and he has to back his talk up and holdout first. Its premature to say he isn't apart of the team.
