i had tickets to the bowl game but got denied the time off. you going?

Naw man i'm not from Florida so I gotta fly back home. I haven't seen any of my friends or family from back home since august so i'm going to go spend some time with them over break.

I think we're finally starting to get some exposure in Florida though and this could be the beginning of a pretty good football program

I think this years draft deserves more credit. Once again we have made a great first overall pick, and Sean Smith and Hartline are also bright spots. Not to mention Clemons looks very fast and might become a great safety eventually.

I think right now I would give the current draft a B-, we still dont know what we have in Turner. And the Pat White pick still has me confused.

It just wasn't a very "sexy" draft. not a lot of speed guys or guys that really demand the football.

If Davis and Smith are locked in as starters at CB, Clemons learns enough to start at FS next year, Hartline becomes a solid #4 WR and special team guy, and Gardner is good enough for depth on the OL?

That's not a bad draft at all. I'd give it a B+ if things work out for these guys and assuming the rest of the picks are busts. Yeah, the Pat White pick hurts given it could have been used on a real need, but so it goes. It's not like they knew that Henne was the real deal, and we still don't honestly, it just looks very promising.

Still a lot of holes to fill in the 2010 draft.

I like Smith and loved the pick but I don't think he has earned an A if Hartline is only a B+. I understand that he has started since day 1 and as a rookie that's rare (especially second round), but I don't think his play has warranted an A to this point.

I wouldn't say necessarily his play but the pick has turned into a starter. While Hartline is contributing he isn't a starter. We drafted two corners and they are both starting as rookies. That, for Smith, earns an A in my book

Average? It was not sexy because we did not need sexy positions. You realize we have like 8 draft picks on our team from this decade before Tony's first draft in 2008, and in 2009 we landed two starting CBs, a guy who has started a couple games at WR, and seems to improving rapidly in the 4th round. We picked up a T who has got playing time at 3 o-line positions, a very solid player in Clemons, who most likely will get a chance to start possibly this season. The draft is a gamble that can kill salary caps, and produce nothing. When you get pay off on 50-75% of the players you took it is a great draft. We choose late in the first round, but got the best player on the board, and the best player 12 games in to the season, at our biggest need position CB. That alone makes it an above average draft. We did not have a shot at Crabtree, but we got the best CB. Well played by the 3 kings for the 2nd straight year in the draft.
