To lighten the mood from the all the depressing and outrageous threads about how bad we are and what our record will be and stuff, I am presenting you with:

Then...Now...Later - A look into the the Dolphins franchise

Chapter 1:
A long time ago, the Dolphins franchise had it all, the presence of two future hall of fame quarterbacks, a mastermind coach, a pair of WRs that not only complemented our Qb, but made watchers gaze in amazement. Why am I looking back in the past aka then? Its simple, before you can get to where you are trying to go, you first must look back to where you've been. The days of Shula, Marino, Mark brothers, Larry C, etc... are gone but still living in the veins of the franchise each time the team puts on those aqua and white uniforms. Those players have built this franchise into what it is today and what it will be known for in the future, so I felt what better way to start off a thread then to remember what our beloved Dolphins have done since they first entered the realm of the NFL.

Chapter 2:
Last season, we hit rock bottom and it was painful and unbelievable to many of us, but it happened. Due to last season, we now have what we have before our eyes this season. We may not be where we once were, but we are gaining major yards in our pursuit there. The franchise now has a new mastermind leading the healm, a great supporting staff, and hard-nose hitting football players. Our Qbs may not be what we have invisioned for our franchise, but they are what we have. Let's not forget that Steve Young, Brett Farve, and many others were found at the bottom of the scraps pile backing up other Qbs, so there is a diamond in the rough and we will find that diamond eventually, who knows, that diamond could be on our roster at this very moment, just need to sit back & watch the team adjust to their new scheme and a leader shall arise. We have a great pair of Wrs in Chambers and Booker and our secret weapon in Boston if he maintains being healthy, that will put their bodies on the line with making amazing catches each and every sunday all for the franchise and the fans, we have a pair of amazing runningbacks that will give our Qbs a boost when they are fading in a game. So lets not hit the big red button just yet and bail out on the franchise, instead, let's watch our team prosper and grow into the new mold that the younger generation of Dolphin fans will grow up cheering and showing nothing less then hardcore support for.

Chapter 3:
What does the future aka later hold for us? Exact details are not known because we can't predict the future, but if the shadow of Bill B. from NE is like he was in LSU and in the NFL in earlier years, we are in for one hell of a ride. Our defense is being rebuilt with players that are already showing promise, our offense is making major strides to the path of glory against nfl defenses....it just takes time and in a few years, we will forget those days of turning off games early on tv, ranting on messageboards about we need to cut this person and that person or trade them, because our new leader Nick Saban and his supporting cast have made the blueprint for our future, they just now have to finish building the final product. Heres to the future of the Dolphins :beerbang:

Very ESP! It's almost like you KNEW it! :goof:

I mean were weren't that bad in 2003...we didn't even punt once in the last game to the Jets that we won, but failed to make to make the playoffs with 10 wins. The offensive line was old and stiff, but Ricky still did well. Last year was running back by survival!

This year...things will be better...got to start strong!

...in a galaxy far far away........ All we need is some Star Wars music with this thread

Good thread though. Puts a much needed positive spin on things around here.

nice, fun, and enjoyable post. thank you..1972

I think Nick is making some mistakes in his first go, but I expect he will learn. We just have to realize that adjusting from college to the NFL takes a transition for coaches as well as players.

But realize, it will not take the amount of time it takes regular college coaches to adjust to the NFL coaching spot, because Nick was a coach in the NFL before and yes he was coaching in the college ranks, but he was playing NFL plays and ways with his coaching at LSU.

agree 100%....most of the mistakes so far appear to be smaller ones that Saban having some more experience can solve and not repeat in the future.

Yeah, same here. I sat through every minute of the MNF Jets game. If I could watch the dolphins, win or lose, I did. Every minute.

Good thread otherwise.
