Theories on the loss? Philbin/Coyle lost the team and/or have already been fired.

I'm just trying to figure out how one puts up a game like this... because you can't just really say "coaching." Something happened to this team during and after the Jags game, something fairly onerous. Either the players just plain refuse to play for this guy now (taking a queue from Suh), or Philbin and/or Coyle have already basically been shown the door and we've just not heard about it yet. Or a combo of the two, e.g. the players have put the owner on notice for having a bunch of jokers lead them. Either case leads to lack of production by the team and half-hearted efforts by the coaching staff.

There won't be a shakeup before the Jets game; not possible. But I'd be pretty damned surprised if someone isn't formally let go at the bye. There's nothing worse than putting your life/career on the line for a joke of a coaching staff; I frankly don't blame the players for somewhat rolling over purposely and/or having backroom chats with ownership/FO if they seem something fundamentally wrong.

Thoughts?

Seriously, this was a "dead man walking" game. Someone is already internally gone.

I dont ever think its ok to quit. Thats what we saw today I just hate seeing it

That team was sleepwalking from the opening kickoff which is ridiculous! Philbin should be fired and it's going to be worse next weekend with another blitz happy defense along with a very good d-line in the Jets! The Dolphins are following the Marlins in a supposedly great year to have the rug pulled out from under us! I guess we are in the Joey Bosa sweepstakes.

I say make Lazor interim head coach. Yes the offense has stunk as much as the defense. But at least we rule out Lazor going somewhere else and prove to be special. He seems to have his head on straight in interviews.

Lol. You just now realized Philbin has lost the team?

I think its obvious the majority of the players are merely going through the motions. The team is lethargic, uncaring, call it what you will but the future is not good. I suspect they are going to get manhandled by the Jets in London and quite honestly, I hope they do.

I believe that the team has quit on this staff. Whether the coaches have been fired is another question. Perhaps Tannenbaum is talking to the players without Philbin.
There is blood in the water IMHO...

It's very simple.

1.) The team is weak at the line of scrimmage on both sides. They get ran over and can't run the ball. This forces Tannehill to do too much and the O-line is too terrible to protect him. Recipe for disaster.

2.) This team plays with no fire or intensity. They sleep walk every game. They take on the personality of the zombie on the side line.

we r really sucking bad with no quick change in coaching style in sight. Who can we honestly promote from within that has any sense of leadership. I just don't see it. Crash and burn all the way to a first round pick is our most likely scenario.

I think it's pretty obvious the players have quit on Philbin, which is why I don't see this team improving under this coaching staff.

Time for a change. Why wait any longer?

One thing not mentioned often around here is the complete overhaul of the passing game weapons. The new guys might very well be better than what you lost at some point but right now the QB and the receivers are not on the same page. That little extra hesitation can be a huge difference in the final result.

John Elway fired John Fox for his team not being fired up enough in their playoff game last year even though Fox has brought them deep into the playoffs the last 3 years. Time for Tannebaum/Ross to step up.
