My buddy and I were watching the game, he is a Pats fan, so that was fun. Anyhow, he remarked on the deep pass to Wallace and had an interesting thought. Maybe Wallace has a bit more adrenaline going during the games than in practice, so he runs a but faster and that's why he always has to slow down? It seems like Tannehill has hit Hartline and Clay on deep balls right in stride. Maybe on gameday Wallace is too fast?

Made some sense.

Cheers!

(Stay warm, it's freaking COLD out!)

once, just once i'd love to see tannehill overthrow wallace on one of those fly routes....

He did 3 weeks ago. Its all about timing... RT has developed in so many other areas that I am not worried about that right now. He will get it down eventually.

I agree on the timing issue. But I figure he must connect at practice, or why would they keep calling it?

Or it just to keep the defense honest?

Its going to take time. Wallace runs a weird fly route, which is weird to say. But he comes out of his stance barely jogging and then once the DB comes down he turns the burners on and so Tanny has a hard time timing that. In due time

1/3 of the time he is getting hit while throwing the deep ball. 1/3 of the time he is under duress and 1/3 of the time his throw is off.
Yesterday he was getting hit as he through the ball.

Yes, that is very true. You have to be able to step into the throw, and most of the time there is a defender draped all over him when he throws. Hopefully we can fix this line.

He waits to long to release the ball. Let the F ing thing Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo !!!

That one deep pass to Wallace,Ryan didn't step into his pass which he should have.He knows now what he did wrong. If he stepped into it it was a TD.On the other hand, that bullet to Wallace on his TD and a few to Hartline along with those touch passes one to Matthews on the left sideline in the fourth quarter were all pro....

Man we continue to over analyze this. A guy is open, make the damn throw. I just can't get in board with Wallace runs funny or this or that. NFL QBs hit guys down the sideline when they are open. RT had to improve here. And as others have said, he will. I'm no longer worried but let's stop being apologists for missing those throws.

I have noticed that as well.

Wallace is so fast most CB's think his initial sprint is full speed and close in on him only to get caught starting at a toe drag and BOOM, it's off to the races.
