There is no need to draft a QB or even sign one.

What basically the anti- OP's are saying is, well we know we cant get Luck, so trade the farm for a guy named RGIII who is the best thing since bottled water!

Im not sold on this kid on an NFL level. He is really the type of QB we are looking for????

ME, I agree, lets keep Henne/Moore or Moore/Henne whatever and fill all the holes. With a new coach, we should win 10+ games. Yes, I believe that. We should of won 8-9 this year, but thanks to a horrible coach and just bad locker-room vibes early in the season we lost 7 straight!!!

If the QB's fail us given a full year with a solid team all around, then we just need a QB and I would then feel ok to mortgage the farm for one next year. Barkley??? We will havea all the pieces in place and can take a chance and give up some picks for him!

Why is everyone so hell bent on getting a quarterback this year? I get it. I get that having a solid quarterback is the foundation of building a team, but let's not pretend like Miami is a quarterback away from being competitive. There are a lot more things that have to be done in Miami before they can become competitive. At nine or eight, people are advocating trading the farm to move up for RG3, who I don't think will amount to much. And then there are those who advocate signing Flynn, who isn't proven, either, and would cost a lot against the cap.

Simple solution: why not take care of the offensive line and defensive holes this year, and trade down if neccesary, stocking up picks as ammunitions to trade up for a quarterback next year. Until then, the team should be fine. There is no one single formula to building a team, and being so quarterback-focused this year could come back to haunt the team. You make the best of a situation if you don't get the guy you want, rather than settle for the guy you might not want.

Besides, long-term wise, waiting for a new QB in 2013 is much more cost-effective than signing Flynn or trade up for a quarterback who wasn't that highly-ranked in the first place.
okay and then what peices will we lose at the end of this upcoming season to free agency that we will need to replaces and once again we can not take a qb since we will have holes again to plug...

Exactly... there will always be plenty of other holes to fill. You can fill and plug holes all you want but history tells us that most of the time no matter who you have at other positions you will not win a SB without a big time QB. I can somewhat agree with the OP to a degree though but only if you(the FO) don't think Flynn, RG3 or any other guy in the draft will be a franchise QB. If that's the case then by all means just get the best players you possibly can and don't mortgage the future. If you believe there is a franchise QB to be had though, or hell even if you're just 50/50 on whether you think a guy will be one then do whatever you have to in order to make sure that guy is wearing a Dolphins jersey next season.
