if mark was healthy we would have been a playoff team.

You hang onto that fantasy..... Sanchez won't be a Jet next season.

he was far from great at Pitt, he was why Pitt had a chance. He was great against NE though but w/ the season on the line needing 1 win in 2 tries against 2 non playoff bound teams he led his O to 7 total points.
And that is relevant, how?
Actually considering the conditions, the type of defense he went against in Pittsburgh, and the place he did it in, he did a good job....
60.6 completion percentage,
200 yards
3 TDs
1 INT
Game winning drive in 4th quarter
If your favorite QB on the Jets had done that, you would have thought he had an amazing game, and would be on this site all giddy and excited.
Did he have a great game, no, but he did what you expect from your starting QB, every time the Steelers went ahead, he responded in crunch time.

I'd have been happy if my team won, I wouldn't pretend the QB had a great game.
Unfortunately he probably won't, maybe he goes to Miami
a punchline that has more playoff wins than your franchise has since 1995. when he struggled at the end of 2011 he at least lost to the eventual SB champs and led us to 17 PPG in the late season losing streak not 7 pts total in 2 games against dead teams.
#s tell part of the story.
His #s from this season look good but when you look at how he actually played he held you back. At Pitt he threw a huge pick 6 and the "game winning drive" was handing it off for a near 60 yd run and throwing a dump off and watching Clay break 4 tackles for the TD.
Pit'ss D was not great anyway by the way.

Well, actually your team has the playoffs wins, the Mr. buttfumble was along for the ride...good times, right?
95.5 passer rating is a really good game, maybe not great but really good. It would have been 108 PR without the pick which is fantastic and the pick was as much Sherman's fault as anybody's, their D/Polumalu seemed to know the play, Polumalu hid presnap and went exactly where the ball would be thrown. I'm not taking anything away from them but it's ridiculous our offense was so easy to set up and that's the reason Sherman is looking for work right now.
:lol2: :sidelol: :lol2:
you can't blame Sherman for that pick and passer rating gives us a guide. it doesn't tell us how he played. Ryan was not good in that game no matter what the #s tell you just like he wasn't have as good as season as his #s indicated heading into those last 2 games. He played great vs. NE but against us and Pitt the 2 weeks before he had great #s but kept his opponents in those games.
"How he played" is subjective opinion, my opinion is he played well and that opinion is backed up by stats.
but it's not backed up by reality. in a close game he had a pick 6, on the GW drive he handed the ball off for 55 yds then threw a dumpoff where his receiver broke a million tackles and scored. he kept Pitt in the game, a game you should have not sweated out on that last crazy play.
Well the other team has an offense too, do you know how difficult it is just to beat a team when their QB has one of his best games of the season with 114 passer rating, especially on the road?
I like you Roy, I think you are a good poster and good fan but you put way too much stock in passer rating.
Your D made the ciritical stop after Miami took the lead, your D overcame the O giving away 7 pts.
It takes balls the size of coconuts or a brain the size of a pea to debate QB play while continuing to support Mr Sanchez (even after his own team has tossed him aside)....... :sidelol:
0 credibility.....
Yes I support the guy who has more playoff wins than your franchise since 1995, the guy who has the most playoff wins in Jets history. I realize there were a million different things wrong w/ our team in his lone bad season of 2012. I saw a guy in Eli manning who had top 10 weapons to throw to have a much worse season than Mark 2012. mark helped us win a lot games, play in a lot of big games. Was he great? Nope but he was a guy we could win with which is something Ryan needs to prove he is for you guys.
someone telling me how great Ryan Tannehill was is talking about credibility?
