We all had a good laugh last week when Kitna said the Lions will win 10+ games in the upcoming 2007 season.

Well as I was watching PTI about 2 minutes ago, I got an even bigger laugh.

Wide receiver Mike Furrey says "we could with 10-12 games EASILY."

They must be serving alcohol after practice in Detroit, what are these guys thinking? Yeah you have a nice set of receivers and a guy who ran well in the best running scheme ever, but who's going to play defense and who will protect the coveted Jon Kitna?

This is getting out of hand and I hope they keep these awesome comments coming.

 @ 'The coveted Jon Kitna'

Last season it was Roy Williams who said something to the effect of 'When our offense is rolling, we are unbeatable'

 Thanks.

Yeah I remember that illustrious Roy Williams comment, thanks for the reminder, I had completely dismissed that.

Following a 6-9 loss to Seattle on opening day, Williams said "It's ridiculous how close we were to scoring 40!"

Seriously, what are they feeding these guys?

Atleast they're not coming in with a losing attitude. I think its good that the team thinks they can win. I don't believe it, but if I was on the Lions I'd go into games thinking we could win. I wish them the best and kinda hope they prove people wrong. And from a fans perspective im sure theres Lions fans out there saying they can win 10 games. Look at us on here. A lot of us think we have a shot at the Super Bowl including myself. Fans of other teams laugh at me when I say Dolphins have a shot. They think we're a joke. I say every team has a shot coming in and Im glad the Lions believe in themselves.

Exactly. They have a much more positive attitude than our own players, talking about Trent Green has to watch out or he's going to be scrambled eggs, Vonnie bashing the front office AFTER getting a pretty nice contract extension this offseason for the draft picks this offseason [IMO, just STFU and let coaches do what they think it's best], he even called out Ginn basically.

Joke all you want about Detroit, bash them. They had one of the best drafts this offseason and drafted the best player out of it.

If Calvin Johnson comes out becoming elite right off the bat on his rookie season, it would not surprise me at all.

And they do have some nice talent on offensive line. Jonathan Scott is expected to take a starting role now, and Backus has been decent throughout his career.

Kitna is serviceable, but they do have a nice project in Stanton.

I agree with coming in with a positive attitude, but come on, do they really think that they are gonna be above .500? I would agree if they came out saying that they were looking forward to a good year, or something along those lines, but winning 10-12 games easily? Have they won 12 games total the last three seasons?

Honestly, they suck. There's no more to it. Fire Millen and they're a contender, but they suck.

Showed some promise last year, but really...still sucked. You've got Roy Williams, need a lock down LT, and you draft CJ? You have got a bad D, a good RB, never run the ball, and you trade your best defensive player for a running back?

I like their new DC Joe Barry. He should help turn that defense around, and if he can do what Lovie did on STL, and with Martz, and those receivers, I think they have a chance to be the next 'greatest show on turf'..if they fire Millen

There's coming in with a right attitude and then saying things like that. According to Vertical Limit's theory which is hilarious and I agree with it, the Lions should do the same STFU and just say "We have as good as chance as any team and we're excited as all get-up to get into training camp and get this season rolling." Predicting wins/losses only sets up the media and puts pressure on a team that doesn't even know how to win yet.

They'll score and score a ton of points but every game will be a trackmeet. their defense will let them down every week and they'll go 6-10.

They've won 14 games the past 3 years and have only won 12 games once in their history.

Dolphin fans laughing at this is so hyptocritical. Anyways, I think the Lions could win 10 games. They've had potential on offense for a few years. I wonder about the running game since Jones is out for some time and Tatum Bell never really lived up to expectations in Denver. Defensively they lose Dre Bly but they have a decent young linebacking crew.

Right when I saw that you had the next post, I knew right away it was going to say something negative towards the Dolphins. I don't have a problem with fans of other teams coming here to talk about football but I do have a huge problem with you being here just to talk smack. It's getting old dude, you need to drop it.

It's not hypocritical at all, our players aren't sprouting out after being one of the most embarrassing NFL franchises in history. We aren't alike them in any way shape or form.

I could see them winning 8 games or so and if they get really lucky 10 isnt the most ridiculous thing I've heard. I mean it's happened before where bad teams make a quick turn around the next season.

Thanks, I'm saving this crap
