They legit forgot about Patrick Paul

Jackson has had one season where he was average, last year he was below average and most of the other seasons, he was flat out awful.

Tunsil doesnt count bc Grier didn't think he was worth keeping and he fell into his lap bc of the bong hit. If anything, not keeping Tunsil is a knock on Grier in this discussion on Oline. Hunt took 2 years to become above average and he let him walk too.

Now on to the gas-lighting statement of the century. Grier has only drafted 1.5 busts on the oline.

Your forgetting some people.... Eichenburg is bust but so was Issac Asiata, Michael Deiter, Isaiah Prince, Solomon Kindley, Larnel Coleman & Ryan Hayes.

So that's 7 busts, not 1.5.

Why are you defending Chris Grier? I just don't get the agenda to defend someone who's ruined our franchise. It infuriates me.

Not defending just stating the truth that when resources have been put in, it’s been fairly positive.

You can make up the it doesn’t count game but he still drafted him so that’s his record when high end resources are put into the line.

A third round pick has a 16% chance to start and contribute so you listing like 7th rounders is completely against my point.

As for jackson you’re wrong. Was great last year and the foundation of our line this year. If you watched at all our line went from serviceable to complete garbage. Achane didn’t crack 45 yards in 6 out of the 9 games he missed, most of those under 35 yards and 3 were 25 or lower.

If you read the post I mention he’s at fault for a ton of other things however recognizing talent and spending those higher end resources on the line has been solid.

If this is your definition of a "great Tackle", your not being serious.

There were a bunch of games last year that Jackson was flat out bad.

Paul is extremely raw but he has the size and potential necessary to become a great tackle in the league.
The question is whether he's going to put it all together
If we're still having this conversation a year from now we will probably have our answer.
Butch Barry finally put Austin Jackson together last year, so hopefully he can do the same with Paul.

I mean you can watch the video with actual tape with people that actually understand football much better than you….

Really don’t understand why people feel the need to make comments when they are clearly completely clueless.
Flashed clumsy

Teams that draft well consistently find contributors and starters throughout the draft
There is of course misses by all teams, but they consistently hit on a players at some point in almost every draft.
The number is 16%, which i don't actually know if this is true or not, because there are a lot more poor drafting teams than good drafting teams.
Our rookie contributions last year were Chop Robinson and a few kick returns by Malik Washington
From 2022 and 2023 the only player contributing anything at all at the moment is Achane.
The book is still out on 2024, although right now it isn't good, but 2022 and 2023 were atrocious drafts.
I'm not sure what to think about 2021 at the moment because it would depend on what the impressions of Phillips and Holland are.
This is also probably why we seem unable to recover from injuries the last few seasons, because our roster lacks depth due to poor drafting.

I went back and looked at all of Griers drafts since being the GM to count the busted Olinemen...... Holy ****ing ****, has Grier drafted bad. It's about as bad as a GM could do. The number of players he drafted that never started for the Dolphins is mind boggling.

Also the number of picks he traded away to "win now" without winning a single thing, makes me wanna vomit.

And did all that in a sound proof room over the objections of HC and staff

Could he be successful in ZBS?
Read this article by Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post. Says he would be good in a zone blocking scheme. Wisconsin farm boy, big guy, bully and plays through the whistle. Just what we need!

Excellent take and true on all points.

I know lots of guys on this board are high on him. I admit the run game is better when he is in there, but he is hurt a lot. That + not being top 10 at his position means we need better, or draft guys to take his spot.

Pff is great when you don’t pay attention and need a baseline. Fortunately though we don’t need it here as I paid attention to the line and he was the key reason for the decline. Nothing else changed aside from him being removed and there was a sharp decline. This is not rocket science, he was clearly a key factor.
