When watching the game it was obvious to me that Thigpen was trying to go deep on most plays, and he did with pretty good success especially on the Hartline interference call and the TD to bess. (I think Hartline had his man beat, had he not been held). Now my questions are, how come Henne doesnt take these 1 on 1 shots very often? Is Thigpens scrambling ability the difference in the receivers having time to get open?

I know Henne is in love with throwing those curl and short outs but if the receiver is 1 on 1 you have to take a shot deep. Anyways, I just want to see our team win and it was exciting to see the receivers getting a chance to show that they can break long ones.

Because it was the 4th quarter and Thigpen had nothing to lose, so the playcalling gets a little more risky.

How many of those passes were INT's?

Do some research on Thigpen to understand his pro's and con's. He has plenty of tape to look at since he started 12 or so games in 08.

Thigpen is a very solid #2 and a serviceable #1 in stints. But there is a reason he moved to #3 after 08, and was traded. And alot of those reasons were on display yesterday.

I only saw 1 pass that was interceptable and that was the pass interference non-call on Ted Ginn..

PI or not, that was a ball that was intentionally thrown into double coverage.

Ummm, double coverage? Good decision to put the ball in that window? Sorry but MIA doesn't have a Tony G or D. Bowe. Targets that were able to bail him out in KC.

I understand that he made a poor decision on the INT intended for Ginn. However, he did bring the fins back from being 17 points down

Like I said, he has his pro's and con's. Both were on display yesterday. He has over a half of season of stats and film to know them. Being here in KS, I got stuck seeing alot of those games at the bars since they were always on the big screen.

Again MIA doesn't have the big bodies of a D. Bowe or Tony G. to bail him out.

Yea point taken. I wish we could see what he could do in a game where he is not put in that situation (down 17)

He threw one bad pass, what was he supposed to do on the last one, down 6 and 85 yards to go with no timeouts.

Ok lets judge a guy who sat for 15 and 3/4 games and comes in down 17 points. I think that is fair.

Of course his elusiveness and scrambling ability gives receivers time to get open. That is Thigpen's game, by far, his greatest strength.

Hopefully we can see more of Thigpen and what he has to offer next preseason.

I really agree that Thigpen showed what he is, and there is a reason why he isn't in KC anymore. Unfortunately for KC, when they decided they didn't want a passer like Thigpen, they put their eggs into the Matt Cassell and Brodie Croyle basket. Cassell is serviceable but anyone picking Croyle to do anything is foolish, its amazing he was allowed to start a game this year.

Some fans forget that despite Thigpen lighting us up for a while last year in a crucial game in KC, he also lost the game in Jay Cutler fashion by not taking care of the ball, when they were in a position where that should have been the number one priority. Thigpen did that again with the pick inside the 20. I'm not holding his picks against him too much because this is a guy who has probably hardly even set foot on the same field as our offensive starters, being brought in midseason as the #3, but there are still there all the same.

Thigpen does have a couple things that Henne doesn't have, mainly pocket mobility and ability to make plays down the field. In similar playing time, Thigpen had 18 TD's to Henne's 12, and that to me is not a coincidence as too often Henne has been able to rack up lots of yards and completions yet still not hit paydirt. It's easy to see why Thigpen could rack up more TD's than Henne, as those plays downfield were something that Henne just hasn't made except for several notable & isolated occurences. These things don't mean that Thigpen would be a better starter than Henne, but I am really excited to see a guy who has that type of playmaking potential on this roster because its something that, even when Fiedler and Pennington were getting up wins & playoff berths, we didn't have except for Sage Rosenfels, who we did our best to bury on the roster in favor of mediocre QB's like Gus Frerotte.
