Beat writer Armando Salguero expects newly acquired Tyler Thigpen to overtake Pat White as the Dolphins' spread/Wildcat quarterback.
Salguero points out that Thigpen runs nearly as well as White, is a much more proven passer, and has plenty of experience in the package. Thigpen can even play receiver. He'll pass White on the depth chart soon enough.

I still question the pick. Anyways, maybe we'll actually have some Wildcat plays with Thigpen on Sunday.

White is a project for down the road we drafted him earlier than necessary he will play when is more prepared years down the road
 
The source is Armando. This is basically that a*sclown saying "I think this is what will happen". Keep moving people.
 
Not to say I don't like Armando's peevish sense of humor, but yeah, in essence this is speculation over a beat writer's opinion (wait a minute, that's what I do!). Yeah, big deal...
 
white is a better passer and better runner, and probably has more potential than thigpen, but thigpen has a year as a starter in the NFL under his belt.

He could pass him on the depth chart this year for that fact alone, but unless white is a complete bust we should see white as the #2 next year.. unless thigpen gets a chance to play this year and goes nuts and plays really really well.. in which case we probably wasted the 2'nd on white
 
honestly thigpen had a very decent year as his first year starting.. he threw 18 TD's to only 12 picks, and rushed for 3 or 4 more TDs.. low completion percentage but very high YPC. he looks like he has potential, im surprised KC let him go so easily ( but they did invest a ****load in cassel)
 
I know that it is Armando but this really is a no brainer. Thigpen gives the same options to the offense that White does and has NFL experience. Common sense will tell you that as soon as he is comfortable with the terminology, he will be #2 and White will be the emergency and won't be seen again until next TC barring injury.
 
Well the only advantage White has over Thigpen right now is that he supposedly "knows" the offense and that's something Thigpen will take awhile to pick up. I don't see Thigpen being #2 QB anytime soon unless there's an injury OR we use him in the wildcat over Pat White which I wouldn't understand unless the team just has NO CONFIDENCE in Pat White which could turn out to be the case. He hasn't done a damn thing but at the same time he hasn't really had opportunities so it's unfair to judge. Who knows maybe we'll eventually use all three quarterbacks (obviously making them all active), but for the time being I think that White will be 2nd to Henne.
 
Thigpen is not as good of a runner as Pat White, and Pat is a lot faster too. This could happen though because Thigpen has a ton of NFL experience compared to Ginn.
