Coach Tony Sparano doesn’t like to risk injury with tackling to the ground during practice, but it seems a few Dolphins couldn’t help themselves.

I’m guessing everyone wants to hear about the scuffles, even though nothing really happened.
First up, inside linebacker Channing Crowder and right guard Shawn Murphy traded shoves and words during 11-on-11 drills. A little later, it was time for linebacker Tearrius George and Nate Garner to mix it up, with George jacking Garner hard enough to nearly knock him to the ground.
Neither came close to matching a couple of the hits, though, especially linebacker Akin Ayodele’s shot on Ricky Williams, who hit the ground with a thud.
Earlier, defensive back Jason Allen, who’s been struggling in coverage, came up and nailed Pat Cobbs, who fumbled and fell to the ground.

WOW jason allen forcing a turnover?!?

Yeah in practice. Too bad that does not happen in a real game. And to think some of us (me included) had high hopes for him when he was drafted. He was a player at Tennessee but he can't translate at the next level.

In a battle of pip-squeaks, cornerback Will Billingsley plastered wide receiver Chris Williams on an out pattern.

- Rookie cornerback Vontae Davis had his first interception during camp. (Davis also grabbed Ted Ginn Jr.’s facemask on a punt return drill and acted as if he didn’t want to let go)

On the pick, Davis benefited from a poor throw from Chad Henne, who was well behind Anthony Armstrong on an out pattern.

- RB Ronnie Brown made his presence felt more than he had in camp.

He looked fast and powerful on a number of runs, and also was involved in one of the lighter moments of an intense session.

After he caught a checkdown from Chad Pennington during 11-on-11 drills, Brown found himself a step behind 305-pound nose tackle Jason Ferguson, with no one in front of Brown.

Brown toyed with Ferguson who acted as if he’d give chase and Brown laughed and took off.

I dunno just made me laugh, one of the things I love about Ronnie is he is always smiling and seems to just enjoy playing the game.

Not sure if it was smart to mess with the big man like that.

I'm sure Ferguson will clear things up next time they meet in the trench.

..and I always remember how some writers say how nick saban was known for the secondary. apparently he doesn't know how to pick good nfl players for the position. i.e. travis daniels
