1. Everyone has read the article about chris chambers moving to the slot to create mismatches. Last year he did little until he moved to the slot then he exploded. So this year rolls around and we go back to only playing him on the outside. Did we not learn the lesson from last year?

2. There is obviously some kind of disconnect between the play calling and utilizing the current players to their full ability. Our two best offensive players are ronnie brown and chris chambers, yet they are not the focus of the offense. Does Saban need to move mularky down from the box to the field? Did we not go through the same thing last year? Did we not learn that lesson last year?

3. This one probably bothers me the most. I don't understand what is going on during the game alot of the time. I don't see a clear direction or any kind of leadership of this team. I am talking about players as well as coaches. We clearly do not know how to win games in the nfl. When we run I think we should pass, when we pass I think we should be running. ARE WE A RUN AND SHOOT TEAM? Some games all I see is a shotgun formation with 1 back and a semi no huddle when we aren't down by much with a ton of time left in the game. I am lost here guys, we are running the old run and shoot(poop) offense that never got anyone anywhere. AND I always thought part of the run and shoot equation was a mobile QB, which Joey clearly doesn't do in anyway. The end of the Green Bay game really pissed me off(the jets game too). We showed no urgency, we are still in the no huddle but wasting huge amounts of time each play. Its like the team doesn't care or they simply don't know what they are doing. We were in a no huddle offense but NOT a hurry up offense, it makes no sense to me. Then they show Joey up close and he is taking his damn sweet time, but this problem is also a coaching problem.

My wife actually watched the whole green bay game with me and she asked me what was going on, and I said I guess we are playing for the onside kick, altho we had time to score and kick it away if we had a clue. She was like "oh, thats not good". I really haven't been down on saban much in the past, but the team looks extremely under coached at the moment.

1. Apparently not. I don't understand this either.

2. Apparently not. I don't think bringing Mularkey down to the field would help the particular situation that you mention. If Mularkey doesn't know who are best players are and how to get the ball to them by now, he'll never get it.

3. The intent of the no huddle, I believe, is to instill that "sense of urgency" into the players. But, it has worked to no avail. It appears that nothing will instill that into the players except a scoreboard that shows us down by 2 scores.

Great post.

I've been scratching my head so much this season, I got no hair left.

This coaching staff baffles me. And we have no true team leaders. Ronnie and CC are quiet types. Daunte and Joey are too new to assert themselves. McMichael's got no cred, cause he can't catch the ball. On D, JT and Zach are leaders, but we need somebody on offense to assert themselves.

I completely agree about 1 & 2. You would think that regardless of changing OC's that Nick would recall what works best and build on it.

As for #3, I would like to know what philosophy/scheme Nick is trying to implement an offense. Are we Pittsburgh south, spread team that favors short passes & a power running game, or a full blown run & shoot?

Lets pick one and stay with it. We can't modify quite like the Patriots do on a week to week basis.

I know the following might be a "radical' concept but pick one. It might even help whoever the QB is and be easier for the OL to develop/progress. Mind you, it would be nice to have the same OL for 2 games in a row.
