Things to be happy about

1) Between Joey and Daunte we have a good QB situation
2) Nick Saban given enough time will turn things around
3) We should be picking at the beginning of each round next year
4) If we can squeeze 2 more years out of JT, Zack, KC and Dan Wilkonson we
have a nucleus on D to build around

5) Our secondary has played better than I imagined. Not great, but I thought they would be awful at the beginning of the year.

6) Atleast we don't have a lot of players w/ huge signing bonuses..
7) 5 or 6 additions in FA plus a good draft and we can compete next year.

OK I am out of optimism. We stink this year.

The only problem with number 4, even if you squeeze two more years out JT and Zach, you really can't build around them as the nucleus because you're 'squeezing' a few more years out of them. We need to build around young talent rather than the older guys.

Crowder and Daniels would be two you could look to build around, but they've been pretty inconsistent IMO so far. Daniels cant stay healthy and I havent noticed Crowder that much thru 5 games. Doesn't mean he's not doing anything, just not making alot of big plays or being where the ball is regularly.

Everything else seems like pretty valid points. Good post.

Agreed. I guess I didn't mean build around so much as to compliment young guys we acquire.

If JT or KC go down we are in trouble w/ no pash rush.

We need to invest heavily in O-line and front 7 D in the next 2 or 3 drafts...
