As bad as this season has really, REALLY sucked there are a few things that we have learned this season. First of all we know that we arn't as set at the WR position that we all thought we were coming into this season. There were very few if anybody that thought the WR position would be a weak part of this team this year. We know now that we need a guy that is going to get downfield and get some seperation from the DB's not to mention it would be great if he could hang onto the ball.

Secondly, we are learning that Nick Saban is just a mere man, not a god like many people thought. He's not immune to a bad season, or losing his players. There is only so much that the coach can do for the players before they have to take winning upon their own shoulders.

Thirdly, we have learned the Mularky isn't going to be another Linehan for us, plain and simple. We all thought that bringing in 2 x-head coaches would be great for this team, but clearly not. We need some young and hungry young guys in there that are going to create a new identity for this team. You also have to admit that as much as we dont care for Mularky, he is being forced to use another coach's playbook, which would have to be tough.

The next thing we have learned that there are a lot of fans on this board that are tlyready to throw anybody under the bus or into the fire. Many people here have to single out one player or coach and blame the whole thing on them, when in truth these guys win and a team and lose as a team. It doesn't matter how good anybody does because if the team loses that player still lost.

Lastly, we learned that Culpepper isn't completely healed and may never recover from his injury to be the QB that he once was. In the same hand Joey has looked better than expected, aside from what his TD/INT ratio is, he hasn't played bad. I think given another year in this offense and time to really work with his recievers he can become a good QB, the QB that everybody expected him to be when he came out of college.

I can't agree with the statement that joey harrington is(or is going to be) a good qb. When I went to to fins-jets game a couple weeks ago, I noticed that joey's head stays locked on one side of the field at all times. Against teams with a good pass rush you may see qbs do that alot to get rid of the ball quickly, but the jets d-line was pathetic and yet he would stare down his receivers. Think about how much easier it is to defend against a qb like this. I don't know if he learned this trait at detroit, but for him to be a good qb, he has to go through his progressions better.

Good post. I just disagree with your assessment of the QB situation. I think Culpepper 100% healthy will be better than Harrington, who will never be a good QB. Servicable maybe, but not good enough to lead a team anywhere without Montana's supporting cast from the 49ers.

joey does lock on to receivers at times

yes saban is just A MAN! A cranky, irritable, occassionally berserk man that yearns for the days when he and ricky could sit and share a slice of pizza.

How so? He energized the offense when he got his first start, but now it's back to the same ineffective offensive production that we're used to. Whenever he steps back to throw, I fear that he's about to throw an interception. That was the same feeling I got with AJ Feeley.

i get the same fear but only when i see that the ball is going to hit a receiver in the hands

And DC doesn't???
When he doesn't lock on it takes him about 5 seconds to find somebody and by that time it's a sack.
Face it, neither one of these guys is going to be the answer.
Back to the drawing board. :D

Yes me too everytime he throws to McMike or Chambers I get extremely nervous :sidelol:

I think the kid has alot of potential, He was never coached properly coming out of college and he spent 3 years in Detroit trying to learn on his own with a bunch of rejects. Unfortunately he's stuck with a bunch of rejects here as well
