These are things that people should think about before they say Joey was so bad, i myself dont know the stats. But you all know i think Joey should be the starting QB for awhile so thats nothing new.

How many games did Joey start?

How many of his passes were dropped?

How many of his passes were deflected by our own receivers that were intercepted?

How many of Joey's passes were just missed like the deep ball against the jets that chambers let go through his hands?

How awful was the play calling, really?

Where was Joey comming from before he came here, both physically and mentally?

The oline? LOL

Joey had his shot.
He looked really good in spurts but he has the uncanny ability to implode at some point for longer spurts in every single game.

I think he's done here and I was one that was for an open competition between him and CPep at the QB spot next year.

Bottom line is that if Culpepper does not work out, were in deep dookie. It'll set back this team another couple of years.

You started a new thread for this?

I can answer a few of these...

How many games did Joey start? 11

How many of his passes were dropped? Officially 29

How many of his passes were deflected by our own receivers that were intercepted? Officially 2

How many of Joey's passes were just missed like the deep ball against the jets that chambers let go through his hands? 29 or less

How awful was the play calling, really? IMO a 2 on a scale of 1-10

Where was Joey comming from before he came here, both physically and mentally? a toss up between "the house of horror" and the "pshyc ward"

The oline? LOL...ditto

I tried hard not to think about those things and now you bring them up.
The bottom line is this, with Joey at QB we are still avg less than 16 points per game. He may not deserve all the blame but he does deserve much of it.

HOW MANY EXCUSES CAN WE MAKE FOR JOEY HARRINGTON? The guy sucked at Detroit, so instead of saying he isnt good, we say it was the Lions organization. He has a streak of terrible games here, making bad decisions, so we say that it was the play calling, the offensive line or the recievers fault. The guy has some talent, but when he gets pressured, he makes decisions that lose teams games. I dont want to watch him lose us anymore games, so I would rather have Cpep, who has succeded before in his nfl career, or a solid rookie like troy smith

The Harrington experiment is over and there is no longer any reason to stick with him. I say bring in a veteran QB to backup Dante incase anything goes wrong. I would also bring in a QB via the draft in the middle rounds and hope that we can develop him to be the future.

The most daming fact against JH is that when you look at the things a QB does that translate to winning primarily his YPA and his INTs per attempt you see that he performed the worst of the three QBs who played for us this year. There may be other things that he was better at but the fact is that those things aren't as important relative to winning as the things he was poorest at.

As for your questions:

How many games did Joey start? More than any of our other QBs so he simply had more opportunities.

How many of his passes were dropped? The drops have been a problem for him for a long time (even college) so unless you believe that all these receivers are involved in a conspiracy against JH it's a JH problem. More likely his inaccuracy puts more balls in places that make it difficult for the receivers to catch them.

How many of his passes were deflected by our own receivers that were intercepted? Same as above

How many of Joey's passes were just missed like the deep ball against the jets that chambers let go through his hands? Too many, he's just not accurate enough on those.

How awful was the play calling, really? No worse and often better than it was for the other QBs who played for us.

Where was Joey comming from before he came here, both physically and mentally? Not sure but based on his stats he's still there.

The oline? LOL He often got better OL protection than the other QBs who played for us.

why does joey get a free pass for completely blowing in detroit??? good qb's can excel on bad teams or at least have a better than 68 career qb rating...they were constantly drafting him wr's in rd 1 and trying their best to surround him with talent even tho they failed...do u joey huggers honestly think they ruined his career in detroit??? they gave him a career and 5 yrs to start and suck he shoulda been a career back up

I' still a Joey supporter, will remain. I feel he'll be back and if DC doesn't recover (phyxically and MENTALLY) from his injury Joey will be the starting QB for 2007. He knows the offense and Mularkey knows his skills. Mularkey and Garret can work with him in the off season to work on his weakness.

The receiving corp will have play with the QB, not who they wish for. If the can't or won't let them go or trade them.

In the NFL performance speaks louder than skill and Joey's earned the right to return at least for one year. There are a lot of teams that would want him as their starter, and in the right situation can take a team to and win the SB.

i got some new questions...how many times did joey miss a wide open deep throw?...how many completely stupid throws did he make?...how many times did he look comfortable in the pocket and not have happy feet?...how many points did he score in his last 6 quarters at qb?...how many did cleo score in his last 2 quarters at qb...how many plays did joey make??? at his best he managed the game well for us

good QBs can excel on good teams, so jon kitna in cinncy was a fluke cuz he sucked wit detriot nd garcia in san fran nd now philly is a fluke 2 becuz he sucked detroit, name the last QB that was good wit the lions, they have an all arund bad team evry year, jus lik the browns, name the last good QB there, garcia did nuttin wit them as well

Well its not just fans that are saying he is not the future. Our coaching staff pulled him for our 3rd string QB. (not a knock on Cleo, I like him) Franchise QBs don't get pulled like that unless they get hurt (like Pep) Baring injuries I don't see any way Joey goes from getting pulled for Cleo at the end of this year to being our starter game one of next year.

I agree that Joey is done, but if I were you, I would plan on Cpep NOT working out. Lemon looked better than both JH and Cpep by a long shot. If he plays wel against Indy, then I say trade JH for whatever you can get, try out Cpep for the first three games next year after he has had considerable time in preseason, keep Cleo at the #2 spot with a rookie and Marc Vick taking up the third spot. Sound like a plan to me.
