Things we learned about the Miami Dolphins from Richie Sr.

good thread. can we get a repost of all the entire rant yesterday? I tried to repost but its all been deleted.

did anyone run the ip on the "father". Unless he's smart enough to us a proxy (doubt it), his geographical info should be available at a minimum and see if it's from the same town that he lives in.

It's definitely him. I mean, if his calling the suspension before it was announced wasn't enough of a tip off, Walrus did some solid internet detective work there. It's him. Spare us the "maybe it's not really him" stuff. It's him.

Doesn't 3-0 seem like a long, long time ago?

As absurd as it is, I think this team might actually play better now. The OL was killing this squad and with all of this **** coming out? No wonder.

...and one lady...Dawn Aponte. She is like Elliot Ness...untouchable (for some reason)

well Im not sure anyoe can fault her much its not like she decides well lts spend 60 million on Mike Wallace. Im sure she works out the details and will look at how deal has us cap standing wise.

Did it ever dawn on anyone that:

a. This is not his father or;
b. If it is dear old dad he is blowing this out of the water much like the press is?

Like the Devlin slurper, if you check this guy's posting history, almost all the posts deal with the OL and single out Incog in particular and Pouncey at times as being the only worthwhile linemen. IMO The tusked-one's legwork would assume there is a familial relationship, as there are too many coincidences otherwise, but you're right, it could be a good friend, a brother or another family member (although living in AZ after moving from Jersey at an early age probably eliminats his circle of friends...but not family). Now whether he's blowing smoke or not, that's up in the air, but he called the suspension before our beat drones did and identified (Kenneth) Zuckerman by name who turned out to be Martin's agent before any of us knew who he was talking about. So I'd say with reasonable certainy, dad or not (and what dad doesn't instinctively circle the wagons?), that there's a close personal connection.

Here's what I've learned from Richie's dad .... with out him saying it.

Garner, Watkins, Yeatman and Clabo are happy campers now that Martin and Incognito are probably never coming back.

I gotta tell ya Mike I'm just not convinced. I understand how the conclusion is reached but having read a letter his dad allegedly wrote to Huskerboard, the contrast is writing styles is obvious.

I don't know about you, but I think I would write differently when I am in full on RAGE mode... This was an angry rant. It stands to reason that the writing styles would be somewhat different.

Someone's spur of the moment rage-fueled post on a message board is likely to be different from a letter someone sits down and drafts. Especially a letter one sits down and drafts with one's wife.

Those are very fair points. Read the letter I linked and see what you think.

Well, he said Martin is in rehab. Considering that the initial reports were that Martin was 'in a facility,' I think there might be some truth to what Richie Sr. had to say.

This is going to get very, very, very ugly as this all comes out.
Yup. Just think all that we still don't know yet?

especially if he had also already hoisted a couple to numb the anguish. :idk:

I did. It doesn't change my opinion in the slightest. He sat down to draft a letter, probably had his wife proofread it and make suggestions, and then made a bunch of changes. At least, I know that's how it works in my parents' household.

If anything, a lot of stuff in that letter very much corresponds to things Richie's dad has posted here (about growing up in Jersey, etc.).

This whole situation is easily the most bizarre thing I have seen connected to pro sports in my entire life. Just weird, weird, weird. Truly a sports story for 2013.
