Wanted to share a few random things I saw live at the game. Was fortunate to be sitting a few rows off the field on Dolphins sideline.

-Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham met at the goal line right before the game and prayed together. They were the only two players on the field right before the coin toss. Pretty cool moment
-Dallas Thomas got manhandled. It wasn't even respectable. I know this is something everyone saw regardless whether you were at the game or not. Thomas later had ice on his right knee not sure if that was just routine care or if he injured himself.
-Tony Lippett did a solid job on run support. Had a few nice plays near goal line and on edge where he got low and made tackles. Got a good number of snaps.
-Jakeem Grant is tiny and it's awesome. He's gonna be a match up nightmare. He walked back to locker room at 3Q with trainer holding left ribs. He could have had a really nice TD catch but turned the wrong way. Moore made right read on throw not sure how it looked on TV.
-Laremy Tunsil is huge and looked good. He needs to get with the 1's ASAP. Him and Albert next to each other is going to be hard to move.
-Matt Darr is ridiculously good. Hang time, distance, and placement on punts were superb.
-All Dolphins players ran to the goal line on every kick off touch back. I'm guessing Rizzo put this in for some sort of conditioning/accountability. Thought it was pretty cool.
-Wake & Suh didn't leave each other's side all game. They looked like a unit.
-Mike Hull looked really good on special teams. He was consistently in on every tackle.
-Carroo had an awesome hands catch on sideline and he looks like a beast. He's gonna help this team this year.
-Great turnout by Dolphin fans. Saw a lot of aqua and orange throughout the stadium.

Bottomline this team is about who we expect them to be. Poor offensive line play, weak run defense, and questionable in secondary. Regardless fun time watching some football.

So Dallas Thomas sucks, Tunsil should be with 1s and we have some dynamic talent at WR....sounds about right.

Watching Kiko get trucked at the goal line.... I guess Hull is the back-up MLB? I would like to see coach Gase replace some dudes on first team and put a little fire under them that remain.

I was there too and our first unit looked like **** on both sides of the ball..

To be fair, our 1st unit D was missing 3/4 of the DL. I'm still nervous about the secondary. I also want to see Dallas Thomas thrown onto an island in the Pacific....

Hull's height and lack of explosive power will be his two biggest hurdles. Hull ran slightly faster than Alonso, had similar agility numbers, and a better 10-YS. Alonso's Broad Jump is the only area he tested significantly better than Hull.

This is to say that Hull is talented enough to start in the NFL. He's not a super talent/sure-fire starter, but he has a legitimate shot, and I think he would have been better than Sheppard (lofty praise, I know) last season.

How many years does it take to fix an offensive line? Answer, if you're the Dolphins, more than 10 years and 10 1st round picks.

We have players on the roster right now who can fix the problems. That's what's frustrating about it.

I have to believe that Gase has now seen it for himself in game action and won't let this continue. I gotta believe that, or I'm gonna flip out.

Dallas Thomas and Billy Turner were both bad but Brandon Albert and Juwan James weren't much better. I don't know if it's you're only as good as your weakest link?

I think Gase scripted some calls and Tannehill had no time to actually execute them nor did they deviate from the script.

Bottom line is I think the Dolphins still have same gaping problems that will plague them. Bright note is I liked all the rookies and thought some soph/3yr guys look like they've progressed somewhat.

I forgot to mention that Walt Aikens looks noticeably bigger. Filled out a lot and think it's gonna help.

I think Gase just honestly wants Tunsil working against twos and three's until he has everything down pat. Thomas starting over him makes no sense in any other light.

IMHO Aikens also looked more decisive. Like he's finally comfortable playing at this level, and knows where he needs to be and what his responsibilities are on each play so he isn't thinking as much.

I never wish injury on a player, but if thats what it takes to get Tunsil to start, then so be it.

Dallas Thomas is officially done as a starter in Miami. I don't think anyone really thought he was going to play anyway.

I think Gase just needed to see it and not just hand a job out to a rookie.

I am confident preseason games 2 and 3 will look significantly different than this one did.

Dallas Thomas ALWAYS gets pushed back. ALWAYS. It's unbelievable. Get rid of these dancing bears and get some "Hog Mollies"! (Dave Gettleman term)

Offensive line play is an epidemic around the league. It was bad all of last season and has been bad so far through the first week of preseason. That said, in a league of bad offensive lines, the Dolphins have one of the worst and have for years now. It's really kind of pathetic.
