Yes we could have gotten Quinn, but we now have an explosive player on offense. An explosive kick returner, a game changer, is something we needed and we got it. We will be getting alot of kick returns for touchdowns and some very good starting field position. Im surprised we passed on Quinn, but dont forget the other QBs still available........Edwards, Stanton, Beck, Kolb. I expect to see one of them drafted. Miami must really think they groom them better by passing on Quinn. I was so hoping for Quinn to fall to #9 which he did, and we passed. We got a needed position filled. We have 9 picks left, still plenty of time. No need to worry. We will be drafting Edwards, Stanton, Beck or Kolb. We will be drafting a QB.

So no need to worry and jump off ship already, its only 1 pick and its a good one. We have 9 more and will get a QB.
 
I agree, we got one hell of a playmaker and we'll still get a QB in round 2.

Is a small-framed, specialty player is worth the 9th pick overall?

Great post, this is a 5 tool player. He fills many needs with one pick.
 
On top of that, we haven't had an explosive playmaker in forever. Let's see how many times we see 8 guys in the box when we have a guy like Ginn. Hopefully, we now pick up some o-linemen.

No, but I think we used all of our 15 minutes to try to trade down and could not find any takers. Then Mueller and Cam did what they thought was best. I think that we could have got him at 14 or 15. I would have thought that if we could not trade down then we would have taken the BPA which would have been defense at that time.

when they passed on quinn i threw up in my mouth a little

we're going to be hating this for the next 12 years or so
 
The longer this day has dragged on, the more i can justify not taking quinn with our first round pick at 9... he's not a special type player like russel is. Quinns knock is accuracy, and failing to show up in big games... and as far as im concerned he played for notre dame... who lets face it, plays what... 3 good teams a year?

I think as long as we get a QB in the second round, which we should seeing as we have two picks in the second... i'll be happy with passing on quinn... but where im NOT happy is the fact that we took ginn jr.. I would have much rather seen us take someone other than him... i just felt there were much better options
 
It's not a bad pick and it is not a great pick either. I see the logic behind it. There are other QB's in this draft that is just as good as Quinn. I told you guys weeks ago that Quinn was over rated. Beck (IMO) is better.

We will draft a QB in the second and either a OL and another WR with the second (2nd round ) pick
 
If we dont get Edwards or Beck or Stanton....then this draft will be a disappointment in my opinion. The QB position is a freakin diaster and with trent green looming soon...its not getting any better.
