It's pretty clear that RT needed someone like Dan to guide him and smooth out the rough edges.

I know some of you naysayers will say Marino being in that coaches room, going over film, and by RT's own admission, pointing out the 'little things' didn't have much of an effect...well, let's just say that we'll agree to disagree on the effect that better coaching can have on a player with unrealized potential.

Hopefully he continues to learn and improve from the best.

Just wearing an old pair of Dan's isotoners might have put him over the top.

I think the fact that Marino spent time with RT17 alone had a lot to do with this. If I was RT17 and someone like Marino spent any real time with me that would in some small way verify any confidence I had for myself.

I'm just glad Marino has finally reinvested with the Phins ORG.

I think it has more to do with Tannehill and the rest of the players getting more comfortable in the offense and playing a defense that does not have an elite DL.

I hate to go back to the well, but a few weeks back I posted that article about Eli Manning and the Giants getting into their new offense, and it had a great money quote from Bruce Arians (who I think is a truly fantastic coach) about how it just takes guys time to get into a new offense. Said that for Palmer it was week 8 and suddenly he went from looking slow and uncomfortable to throwing guys open.

I hope that's what we're seeing here.

Thats exactly the case IMO.

I think it's probably a combinaton of things. Marino is part of thet combination, but Tannehill and the offense getting comforatable in what they are and playing within the system and themselves. The O Line was outstanding today in keeping Tannehill clean.

Marino's presence is having an impact on the whole damn team. This franchise was desperate for a taste of the legacy. Tannehill looked like ****ing Aaron Rodgers today. He's had a different approach since Marino started involving himself with the team. I only hope it continues.

I do think Marino is telling him to throw the ball hard and throw it as the reciever turns. Dont wait for them. just a spit sec diff but Rt was throwing darts today.

Gradually, Tannehill's mechanics have improved - prevalent in his footwork, pocket awareness, decision making, progressions, and placement today. He's distributing the ball to a variety of receivers and isn't locking in on particular WR as he was earlier this season - he's really reading the coverages and seeing the field a whole lot better. I'm sure Marino is contributing to, and is complimentary of, his qb development.

I don't care what it is.....but it is great to see. What a fun game to watch.

If I had to guess, I would say comfort with the offense is also a huge factor.

OLine protection was as good as it gets.

It's a combination of a number of factors that has Tannehill playing this way IMO and I'm not sure exactly how much of an impact Marino had on him, but what I do know is that outside of the first half against Green Bay, the kid has been absolute money since week 4. We haven't had a QB having this good of a statistical season Marino in 94, there's plenty of reason to be excited going forward, and I'll be very happy to be wrong in doubting Tannehill.

**** Detroit. Let's go.

Some of the throws I witnessed from Tannehill today brought back memories of Marino. He was that "lazor" sharp.

Tannehill was like a young Dan Marino with legs.
