Think our oline is bad? The Jets are in trouble..

You do realize our best Ol was out and we were down 2 starters, right?

You do realize we then lost our backup C early on, right?

You also realize this game was played w/ mostly backups, right?

You guys are reahcing as usual. We will have a very good Ol w/ a couple of quality backups when the season starts. Any team that loses 2-3 OL will have trouble filling those holes.

Injuries don't happen in the regular season. Nope, not at all. One injury and that line is in shambles, and that should be a huge concern to you. No line, no running game, a very bad Mark Sanchez becomes even worse.

Sort of like when we lost damien Woody last year, right? How did that work out? It's all wishful thinking on the part of opposing fans.

They will address the depth of the OL, we have plenty of cap space. Turner apparently broke his leg and is done which is bad news but we have plenty of time to fill that hole of a backup OL.

If he doesn't, his days are numbered in NY. Sanchez isn't a great QB (statistically worse than Henne) and as you pointed out, the Jets (like Miami) need stronger QB play to take the next step. He's had it easy so far because the Jets have made it to the AFC Championship twice but if the Jets regress this year the Sanchez criticism is going to increase. You'll start seeing the same stuff about Sanchez on Jets forums that you see here about Henne.

The big difference between the Jet's and Miami has been the O-line and running game, Miami's stunk last season which put too much pressure on Henne who, like Sanchez, is an average QB and can't carry a team on his own.

What was this thread about? Oh yeah, neither Miami or NY played all of their O-line starters so what we saw wasn't what we'll necessarily see week one from either team.

best post on this whole thread.

Dolphin Draft bust Patrick Turner does well..

I didn't see the game so I'm just looking at the stats, and I realize he had a touchdown catch, but could someone tell me how 6 catches for 32 yards is impressive? It's a 5ypc avg.

I didnt watch the game but all i know is i switched to espn during halftime and it was replaying a sack on Sanchez :)

Patrick turner still blows.. McElroy looked good for a rookie.. they had that big Samoan guy looked good (not pohua) mcknight is trash.. if hey have any injuries their going to be in a world of hurt...I'm not too impressed with green..i think Powell will eventually be better..the back up TE had a great game and looked good..

If the texans could tackle would have been a lot more sacks. They whiffed pretty bad a few times.

Not that I really care about how the jests played, but this is preseason, the first preseason game at that, after a !boinked! offseason. Let's reserve judgment on how good or bad teams will be a bit later in the process of PS.... D's are usually ahead of offenses in a normal offseason and PS, so this should not surprise anyone who's ever followed any NFL team in the past...

EDIT: Besides, my daddy taught me that people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones...we fit into that category, even if our QBs didn't get sacked 7 times...

Surprisingly with the jets good running game they ranked 30th in red zone scoring
a lot of this falls on Sanchez this also should not happen with a good offensive line..
If Patrick turner becomes a threat in the red zone and scores touchdowns
then that would be impressive for them..

We have pushed for a SB w/ Sanchez being up and down the first 2 years. He will take a step forward, how big? I don't know but we'll have a chance to get to the SB again, it may not happen but you always want to be one of those teams that has a chance.

I never thought you had a real shot against the likes of GB, Pitt., or (the previous year) Indi or NO. Have stranger things happened? Yes. If you make it that far anything can happen. But anyone - who isn't a Jets fan - picking the Jets to make it or win it the last couple years . . . well, I would have to question his intelligence. If Sanchez were in the class of the QB's on the other teams, I think you'd be one of the favorites - if not the favorite. In regard to the Jets beating New England:

Last year, New England made their run with Brady and smoke and mirrors. The overall talent on that team isn't up to snuff (for that level of competition), and the playoffs made it clear. Their WR's couldn't get open, and their D was exposed. It looked like you guys were better at 19 or 20 of the starting 22 positions. I'm being only a little facetious.

Youd think the pats would be loaded having so many high picks all these years so i dont get how you can say they arent up to snuff. All those picks they recieved couldnt be busts.
