we know Dan Campbell has taken the reigns from Philbin... we have a long bye week for possibly more happenings, but also for the players and organization to also settle in with this, work and scheme for the future.

are we going to be seeing more Parker? is Turner going to be given his chance on the OLine? What will happen with this OLine? Will Phillips be played more on the DLine?

lots of little things there.....

Lazor and his scheme, shotgun read options, his play calling... will this change? will this stay the same?

ILB... something going to be fixed or changed there? Shepard?

I hope the play calling on offense changes. Always running out of the shotgun is ****ing retarted and needs to be fixed. Lots of things need to change but if we can change the play calling on offense to suit the strengths of our players more it would be a good start.

Will gum wrappers now be left on the ground and will shoe laces actually be left untied or no change in that regard?

All these riveting questions will be answered on the next episode.

The biggest issue facing Campbell is the defense. This is not at all Campbell's area of expertise. Hopefully that will be promoting Duffner after ejecting Coyle...seems like the obvious move. Can't see him retaining Coyle given how we know the players feel about him. Also can't see Coyle being able to shuffle any of the blame onto Philbin in the same way Lazor can argue he was handcuffed.

I think we have to be ready for a lot of things to stay the same. Campbell has to learn on the job, and as much as we make fun of all the little details Philbin paid attention to, they are also things Campbell won't be able to simply ignore. As he said in his presser, the first area of focus will be to demand more from the players in the form of competitiveness and intensity. I think that approach makes sense before he starts concerning himself with other things. The personnel and playcalling will sort itself out slowly.

I do think under Campbell you'll see a more aggressive team that will play harder, but also one that will be a touch sloppy, emotional, and potentially undisciplined (heck we were already awful in terms of flags so I don't know how much worse this could get).

totally agree with this, i have been overly frustrated with the shotgun read option used SO MUCH. im ready to line up under center more!!! get the running game going... and a balanced offense finally there!!!

also start moving Tannehill around with play actions, and moving the pocket more for him... have him read blitz and flow away from the blitzes... gotta recognize these things.

converting third downs.... lets start accomplishing that as well.

well said... .and I am so excited to see if the players can come together as a family once again around Campbell... go out and play aggressively once more, some fire and desire.

the flags have been so ridiculous on both sides of the ball killing ourselves so often and at worst moments. agreed there... discipline and hard nosed needs to come back for us!!!

and I am curious to see if Lazor and/or coyle may truly of been "handcuffed" by Philbin or not. great call with what you said above on it!!!

People have to remember Philbin had final say on how the coordinators were to call games.. You never know if Lazor's or Coyle's gameplans were being waterdowned or not. I guess we'll find out soon. Cambell will be depending on one of them for the rest of the year.

I don't see much changing offensively. Lazor is still the coordinator. Parker should play more but we will continue to be pass dominate. If we fire Coyle i think you see a much better defense

I think the biggest issue facing Campbell is the coaching staff he is left with...this will make or break us. I think like anything else in life other coaches will have agendas and some may take issue with being passed over.

Definitely agree - honestly we shouldn't be expecting much from this change given the circumstances, whether it was Campbell or anyone else. I don't think the FO is either. But at least it gives some hope and shows they're serious.

Curious about all the same things bane. I'm just really really hoping we make some changes on the OL. I'd like to see the offensive gameplan change a little bit (ilke you guys, hate the constant shotgun crap), if we can see all these things so easy, you'd think this guy see the issues as well..

I think his next move has to be to fire Coyle. The defense has just become too bad. No one likes him anymore. I guess Duffner is the most logical choice for now, but I wonder what he would change even? I wish we'd can Lazor too (and get rid of f***ing Zac Taylor)

We need a lot of good things to happen. If we're serious about wining games and making a playoff run (ross/TB/staff) then someone has to make a call to trade for some players that could help us at MLB, CB, and FS. I don't mention OL because I think Turner would be better at rg and put douglas back to lg. Also Anthony Collins is out there for a swing tackle

Also what worries me-

What if Campbell looks good, gets us fired up, competitive, and we still do average? Is he automatically replaced (hopefully not defacto mangini...)?

I mean we still have a tough schedule ahead and the play is still on the players too... After the Buffalo loss I was predicting 4-6 wins, which gets a damn good draft pick. However, if we squeak to another average season of 7-9, 8-8, same old same old. A top pick gets us Jaylon Smith, or a top db, mlb is my preference but whatever, you get it

Despite any positives Dan Campbell contributes, this team will still ultimately do "bad," meaning 8-8 or worse. And I don't think that gets Campbell the permanent job. He'll have to basically put together a miraculous playoff appearance in order to be considered.

Even if he shows himself to be an "up-and-comer," Ross will go after bigger names in the offseason.

They are short on O-line talent, and they are short on D-line heart & desire.

I think getting the O-line to play beyond their actual talent level might actually be easier to fix than getting

the D to play up to their talent level.

Once guys start to mail it in, it isn't going to be that easy to get them turned around

Most of these guys grew up playing football under coaches who demanded everything from them. Its like your kids, they will continue to push to be lazier and lazier if you let them. New sheriff equals new rules. ets hope hitting starts again in practice.
