A "big back" named Algernon "Algie" Brown,

Height: 6'0"

Weight: 255 lb's

- blocking fullback
-running back
-move tight end

2016 | Senior Year
• Moved into fullback role and played in all 13 games, starting six
• Had 16 carries for 47 yards and caught six balls for 67 yards
• Blocked for offense that averaged 201.2 rushing yards per game
• Named to the Doak Walker Award Preseason Watch List
• Named to the College Sports Madness Preseason All-Independent second team offense

In the final analysis, Brown is an extraordinary physical specimen worth acquiring and finding a role for. He has ridiculous speed for his size. Every running back at the NFL Combine who ran faster than Brown was at least 35+ pounds lighter than Brown, except for Leonard Fournette. Every running back at the NFL combine who jumped higher than Brown was at least 35+ pounds lighter, without exception. Brown is faster than almost every edge defender, and he outperforms most tight ends in terms of speed, strength and leaping ability. This is the kind of freak athlete you acquire for your team and figure out a role for him later.

Draft Grade - 6th to UDFA

This guy is a weapon, A lethal weapon !!! This guy will complete our running back situation, he will be Tannehill's best friend.

I am completely happy with Jay Ajayi and Drake so no thanks but he could definitely turn out good for someone.

I have no problem with a RB flyer late or UDFA. You need a good stock of RBs and I'm not convinced Drake will have the ability to stay healthy. That being said, I'd much rather go with a receiving threat out of the backfield.

I'm also okay with rolling with Drake and Williams, so long as they get the former involved more so we can see if he can hold up. Not the biggest priority.

Dude had a little over 100 total yards last year and you're comparing him to Blount and Fournette..

No.

Disappeared last season for some reason. However, he did rush for 750 yards in 2015.

I agree to a degree. I like the idea of a player like Brown as a short yardage back/power back who can also line up at fullback in some sets. However, I also like Matthew Dayes of NC State as a receiving back or maybe Daquan Mizzell of Virginia who could be added as an undrafted free agent. If Miami looks at a back it's clear it's as a role behind Drake, Ajayi and Williams. Mizzell reminds me of a slower version of Reggie Bush.

Another back I really like is Chris Carson out of OK State. Not fast or ultra big, but just a solid all around back at 6'0 218 and running 4.5.

I wouldn't be completely upset with a RB taken I just feel we have much more pressing needs at depth.

I like the idea of having a capable run blocker/short yardage guy. Not sure if I want this guy taking snaps from Ajayi though

I have no problem with somebody taking snaps from Ajayi. The days of the workhorse RB ore dead and gone. RBs typically can't hold up anymore. You need two good RBs, minimum. Is Drake it? I certainly haven't seen enough to be confident in that.

Late- 6th/7th/beyond - sure

I'd like to see us bring in a true fullback but not sure if Gase has ever used one of not

He will be gone waaaayyyyyyyy before we even think about taking a RB!

I really wish RB was a need because this kid is a beast. but we cannot afford to pick a running back this year. absolutely cannot afford it

Maybe because they moved him to fullback and had all of 16 rushing attempts all season as a Sr.
In his JR season had 709 yards rushing at 5.6 yards per carry with 11 tds
