Eagles | Close to acquiring Peters
Fri, 17 Apr 2009 10:18:04 -0700
Tim Graham, of ESPN.com, reports the Philadelphia Eagles are close to acquiring Buffalo Bills OT Jason Peters. Peters has been summoned to meet with Eagles front office members, according to ESPN's Sal Paolantonio and John Clayton.

Bills agree to trade Peters to Eagles[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]...The Philadelphia Eagles have worked out an agreement in principle to acquire Buffalo Bills tackle Jason Peters, according to multiple sources...the Bills will reportedly receive a first-round pick (No. 28), a fourth-round pick, and an undisclosed pick in 2010...the trade would be contingent on Peters passing a physical, and agreeing to a contract extension with the Eagles. LOL...Back to the drawing board!!

Wow! If that undisclosed pick in 2010 is anything less than a 2nd rounder the Bills are taking it up the *** on this one. And even if it is a 2nd rounder, i still think they are kinda taking it up the *** on this one. Welp, no need to keep Marshawn Lynch on my FF team next year, he aint runnin NOWHERE!

The thing that could make this interesting is if the Bills take a T at #11 instead of the pass rusher most have them projected to grab....the killer there is it gives NE one more to choose from before us.

well if the eagles trade goes threw (it will) maybe we can trade our 25 for their 21 pick to move a head off the patriots

how much do you guy think that would cost us its only 4 spots

According to the chart it would cost us our third, and we would be overpaying by like 9 points....I wouldnt want to give up that much to move 4 spots unless everette brown, Jenkins, or Malaluga dropped that far, then I would jump on it.

This really changes nothing. Now the Bills will take an OT in round one instead of the eagles doing it.

And what pick do the Bills have? They aren't going to wait till 28 for a LT...are they?

Every action...causes a reaction....teams will be trading up and down the draft board...there still could be a few more trades...the Browns Chiefs and Giants just to name three.

In my opinion, this deal can only help Miami. If Buffalo plugs its new need at LT at #11, which in my opinion it should do (probably by drafting Michael Oher), that means that it isn't taking a pass-rusher or Pettigrew at that spot. That allows those players to drop down the board, and means that Miami will have more choices at positions of need at 25.

If the Bills take Pettigrew or a pass-rusher at 11 despite their new need for a LT, the calculus of how that affects Miami's draft is unchanged from the situation before the Peters trade. But the top talent at LT will be gone, and Miami's hopefully improved pass rush in 2009 will not have to deal with a Pro Bowl-quality LT every time it plays Buffalo. The Bills could line up Evans, TO, and Jerry Rice in his prime at WR and it won't matter if they can't keep Trent Edwards upright...
