This fins team is playing great... why so upset?

I have read alot of threads about upset fans in this message board and all I can think of is why? When I watch the fins I only hope they don't stink it up and embarrase the Dophins organization and the fans. When I watch the fins I hope to see Ronnie get better, Ricky improve and stay "normal", and watch our young players make a difference. I don't think this team will make the playoffs .... who does? Do you actually believe that this fins team can actually make the playoffs in the AFC? If not, then why would you be upset if they lose? We are rebuilding, we have a new coach, a great new running back, and we will have a top 5 pick next year in the draft to improve this team in saban's vision... what's the big deal? Somebody please enlighten me and tell me where I am dead wrong? Do you agree? or am I the only fan that see's it this way?

I read some where that Linehan should get "fired". Are you kidding me? I did watch today's game and I thought it was called very predictable but that is no reason to fire a good offensive coordinator in his 1st year with the fins. We'll be better next year. Did you watch our secondary today? M.Vick has not been this accurate all year... He had his way with our secondary today and that exploits a problem we've had all year. I know Howard has been bad but the secondary as a whole unit is not that good. The secondary is our biggest weakness on defense and rookie Travis Daniels is starting, he will be alot better next year along with Will Poole, I think we'll be half decent.

This year is a "practice season" don't get too involved just watch and enjoy the "positive" and don't stress the negative because it will be different next year.

Because some of us have watched the Phins since the 70's and have higher expectations. Maybe they aren't realistic but we still want more out of our teams.
 
Well, considering that I call myself a "Huge Dolphin Fan", I expect them to win every game. If they lose, of course I'm going to be upset. If we start accepting losing seasons we will eventually be like the Cardinals or any other team that loses on a regular basis. I would much rather have a late 1st round pick than a Top 5 pick, that would mean we actually did something.
 
Theres no reason not to be upset. Being a fan you hope to win every week no matter whos on the field. It hurts to lose.
 
I agree. I am a huge fins fan but I don't think it's realistic to expect more considering what we have. We are learning alot from some of our secondary, veteran players like Chris Chambers, but also alot from our rookie Ronnie Brown. I think this year's team can only be so good and at times will show us something special like the season opener and the victory against Carolina. This team is alot better then 3-5 but it takes time to get everybody in sync with a new system and it will take Saban at least 3-4 years to get all his players.
 
I expect to win each week no matter who we field. The thing that upsets me even more is that we BEAT OURSELFS. We have been in every game this season and shoot ourselfs in the foot everytime. We have beat 2 good teams and have had the chance to beat 4 others and possibly 5. If we got it in the endzone against the Chiefs instead of the 2 FG's we would have been in a better position to win the game. I mean Booker and Chambers were wide open in the endzone on both those drives and we had to settle for FG's. With that said thats what upsets me the most is that we are losing games that we should win.

That leads to one thing..We need a QB. Maybe we did need another bad year. With this year being shot, hopefully we can get the top qb in the draft (Leinhart) imo, and make a run for it mid reason next year. Gus just doesnt do it. He is a backup plain and simple.

I think the point that the original poster was trying to make was trying to make is that we are rebuilding. The Cards have had the time to bring in the players to fit there system and should be much beter than they are. We are still in the first year of rebuilding after having a coach/gm that ran this franchise into the ground. After last year and a new HC, OC, GM, and about every other coach on the team it will take time to get the right guys on the roster and teach them our new systems. I was actually impressed with a lot of what I saw today. The run D played very well against on of the best rushing teams in the league and we ran the ball well. Also our O line had an outstanding game. I dont think Gus was hit all day and we had good runing lanes, it might have been there best game this year. Our pass D wasnt great but Danials had a good game, Vick was just lights out today. Some of those passes were well defended just very acturate throws.
 
It reminds about the game against the Bills (I think) we played horrible and alot of stupid things happened. We got called for a taunting penalty and Ronnie Brown fumbled the ball. We also played very bad and did not deserve to win that game but with that said we had a CHANCE. That is all I expect from this team... to have a CHANCE. If we have a chance then that means were doing something right. If we have a chance then that means we are 1 or 2 pieces away. With 1 year under Sabans, Ronnie's, Ricky's return, and the system under our belt we will not make those stupid mistakes next year and the CHANCE will turn into victory! When I saw gus make that interception I was like "wow" it was expected but I couldn't believe it actually happened. Everybody knows he was capable of making a mistake like that and he actually did.. I couldn't believe he pulled the trigger but he did.. that is why he is not our qb of the future, just our current qb. We'll get better, when I watch I just hope for no serious injuries, if we get a "W" it's a cherry on top!
 
I think the season is about what most Fin fans expected. I know this is what I expected. A little better then last year but not too much beter 6-8 W's.
 
We all knew this year would be this way.
First year coach
First year system
No QB
No depth due to years of horrid drafting and trades of draft picks.

Guys we knew what was coming this year.
This team has some good things going for it and some young players that look to have a solid future from our draft.

This year is just a step in the right direction and expecting anything more is going to do nothing but torture yourself.
