This Former All-pro Is “not Buying” The Dolphins’ Start

I get it. We have not exactly beaten the cream-of-the-crop in the NFL. But we are a Hell of a lot better than they said we would be when we started the season. If we beat either the Pats or the Bengals or both, the pundits will have to stand up and take notice.:cigar

Sports Illustrated predicted the Dolphins would go 3-13. ESPN rated them the worst team in football in their preseason power rankings. Las Vegas gave them the longest odds to win the Super Bowl.

And this week, a former All Pro receiver thoroughly dismissed the Dolphins’ 2-0 start.

“We’re not buying this team,” five-time Pro Bowl receiver Steve Smith Sr. proclaimed Tuesday on Showtime’s Inside the NFL. “Here’s why: Week 4, New England. Week 5, Cincinnati. Week 6, the Bears. After that train wreck happens, Week 15 and 16, they’ve got the Vikings and Jags.”

Honestly, I don’t care what the media thinks etc, has zero impact on how the season will go.

I would rather just get W’s.. I remember a time when the media ‘expected’ the team to be good and they weren’t.

Totally agree.

We are trending upwards and that’s all that matters. Keep the doubters coming.
 
Yeah I get it. That streak of games will test us for sure. Can't wait!
 
I saw a couple of articles this week in which Dolphins players were pressed to talk about media disrespect and were like "yeah everyone thinks we suck, whatever, we'll show them!"

Yeah, whatever, who cares? You're 2-0. You gotta win 8 more games to have a shot to keep playing into January. Go flip the bird to the media after winning those games.

Id argue it's never too early to flip the bird to the media...
 
I ain't got time for the national media perception or their narratives as most of them appear to be uninformed, ignorant fools, pushing a popular agenda on any given day.

As for Steve Smith...anyone who makes a statement, like he did earlier this year, saying Brock Osweiler and Brice Petty were signed with replacing Tannehill in mind is a lost cause...
 
That's fine as long as we keep our errors down, play complementary football and stay humble we'll continue to keep winning 67% of our games, that Gase and Tannehill have been together, and see how things shake down at the end of the season.
