This is just getting ridiculous(JT, Freeney)

Was just watching NFL network and they had there 4 downs segment and they asked who is the best pass rusher and mora said best pure pass rusher was freeney, but he also liked peppers and merriman. Of course ESPN says the same thing. Or when CBS ranked peppers better than JT for DE's. I have never seen in all these years the reigning DPOY get such little respect. Doesnt winning DPOY mean you were the best. I mean even comparing JT's stats to Freeneys make Freeney look like a joke. There is a reason the dolphins last year won any games last year and it wasn't because of Harrington or that offense.

Im sorry but I just dont get the total disregard of the a player that won DPOY. Freeney has to be the most overrated player on defense, no offense to urlacher who comes in 2nd in that award in my opinion.

Had to just vent on that because its so stupid. Has anyone who has seen freeney play please explain how anyone considers him the best DE. So dumb.
 
totally agree...would definitely take JT over peppers and probably freeney too...but they are all great defensive players and JT deserves more recognition
 
No i would have to say the most overrated defensive player is Ray Lewis but i agree with u on everything else. Its BS that the reigning DPOY isnt even mentioned in there but steriod Merriman is.
 
Well come on guys JT only had the year he had because of all the coverage sacks last year. Lets be honest our DB's were the best last year.
 
It doesnt matter what they think im sure the players who play against Zach respect him especially Coles.

Explains why there was debate between JT and SM. A real football player against one who does drugs to enhance his performance to the point of suspension. Yet you notice the one who did the drugs and didn't win DPOY gets more respect. Could the Dolphins get any less respect?
 
ZT is possibly the most disrespected player in the NFL. I'm a huge fan and am admittedly a bit biast, but its still very true. They knock his coverage, which isn't the best in the league but its still good. He isn't the most effective pass rusher though. Unfortunately those are the 2 most important stats when it comes to being recognized as a top tier LB. I'd love for him to have more INT's and Sacks, but I'll take his tackle total. Without a ring, he has no chance at the HOF.
 
Freeny isn't even really that good. He has great speed and athleticism and is great at rushing the passer. But he's on dimensional. If I needed a pure pass rusher I would take Freeny over JT any day of the week. But if I was looking for a complete DE who could sack the QB, stuff the run, and create turnovers I'm taking JT over anyone else in the league.

And so true on Zach. He's statistically one of the best LBs to ever play the game. He's a tackling machine. He's always near the ball and he never runs his mouth in the media or embarasses his team. He's definately better than Urlacher. Not to take anything away from Urlacher who's a class act and a great player. And while he's not as intimidating a prescence as the murderer Ray Lewis he's every bit as good. He should be hall of fame bound but I don't know that he will make it due to the lack of respect for him in the media. However the media has always been very critical of the Dolphins and a lot of that is because the South Florida media is not very supportive of the team.

It is sad that so many people hate the Fins and don't give respect when respect is due. Urlacher is still the most overrated DEF player in the league. Freeney is good, but not JT good.
 
freeny = one trick pony.... i had someone in new england (where i live) say theyd rather tedi bruschi then joey porter... and said zack was the most overrated of all time.. i dont get it
