@Schottey: Source tells me Eagles would’ve cut LeSean McCoy and were just calling around to find *anything* for him. Bills only took 20min to say yes.

if that's the case why didn't we offer dion Jordan or anything for him. Could of complimented miller nicely but oh well and if true then ouch for buffalo to give away who I think is gonna be a monster of a player for years to come

McCoy was slated to make 10 million next year. It would have been a terrible use of our limited cap space.

Seems to me that the Eagles would have contacted Hickey almost on the outset of trade attempts to get Jordan. Maybe we just said no. Interesting.

Yea guess didn't take his cap hit in consideration

The money was the factor. $25 Mil still to be paid. $10Mil 2015, $7 Mil in 2016, and $8Mil in 2017. BUT Shady is the man. I wishhhhhhh we could have gotten him, but Im not mad/pissed about it. There is more than 1 reason not to make this move. Probably my favorite RB to watch right now though. He jukes people out of their cleats. Bad man.

What I find upsetting is that hes is in Bufallo now. Double whammy, 2X a year. Ugh.

my enduro-like prediction: Fins beat writers will come out with the "news" that Hickey turned down trade for Jordan before McCoy became a Bill and hilarity will ensue on FinHeaven.

Shady McCoy has a lot of miles on his tires. ...the Bills gave up one of their best defensive players, even though he was out all of last year....what are the Bills going to do with CJ Spiller now??

Not trying to be a Bills hater here but they got hosed.

I like McCoy alot but his cap hit was unreasonable and hes an aging player at one of the least valuable positions in the NFL. Kiko was a monster his rookie season and being so young with todays medicine I see no reason he wont return to form and continue to get better. Finding a pro bowl level MLB is harder to do in todays NFL than it is to find the equivalent in a running back.

Basically I'd rather have Kiko than McCoy. Not including the cap hit, just the player straight up. The fact that the Eagles saved like 7m in trading the dude, with no dead money, is just icing on the cake.

One reason the #Bills pulled the trigger on the LeSean McCoy deal? They knew CJ Spiller wasn’t coming back to them.

.@CJSPILLER says on @nflnetwork the #Bills just called & said 'thank you for your service.' Re: McCoy trade: "I thought they were joking"

CJ Spiller on @nflnetwork: "I'm going to a team that wants me to be there.... I'm pretty sure that Chip (Kelly) has my agent's phone number"

ESPN New York's Rich Cimini doesn't believe the Jets "will be chasing" free agent C.J. Spiller.
Cimini expects the Jets to be more interested in re-signing Bilal Powell as their do-it-all backup. Powell shouldn't be standing in the way of anyone as an average-to-below average running back on a team desperate for playmakers. And if Spiller qualifies as anything, it's that he's a playmaker. The Spiller-to-Jets thing has had legs ever since Chan Gailey was hired as coach Todd Bowles' OC. With the Eagles trading LeSean McCoy on Tuesday and their rumored interest in Spiller last March, they're now a contender for him. Spiller's landing spot is key for him.

Hey FinFanAZ...I used to live in Tempe...ASU grad....on Lemon Street just east of campus. I walked to classes. My place was kind of a dump but damn those were great times.

C.J. Spiller - RB - Bills
ESPN's Josina Anderson reports the Cardinals, Jets, Dolphins, and 49ers are "potential suitors [with] considerable interest" in free agent C.J. Spiller. Miami is in the market for an upgrade on free agent Daniel Thomas next to Lamar Miller. Spiller is going to have a hot market despite injury concerns coming off a down 2014. He's our No. 2 available back behind DeMarco Murray.

so its McCoy for Alonso???? unofficial still though correct???

Alonso reuniting with his college coach... that'd be cool. that kid was awesome 2 season ago... big play maker. bad injury this year.

lots of money was involved here for philly.... interesting move after last season Kelly backing up McCoy when issues were around and such, and McCoy was saying he was buying into Kelly and his ways and system... maybe McCoy also fully wasnt??? i wonder where they are going to go RB now... draft? CJ Spiller? (i wouldnt Spiller)
